Hey Gang, I'm a fairly new Tacoma owner. Purchased a 2009 DBL Cab TRD Sport from a guy who replaced the painted surround grill with the chrome one. I'm looking to replace it back to original. The color is Black Sand Pearl and I'm wondering if 1 - will a 2011 grill fit my 2009? Also, Is the factory 2011 black the same as the factory 2009 black (BSP)?

This forum is a wealth of knowledge. Thanks for sharing your insight ahead of time.

    Cheers.

Yes it will fit... the blacks are different... how noticeable, I'm not sure.

As someone alluded to above, "black sand pearl" which has a metallic component to it was replaced with straight "black" in 2011. Never looked at the two side by side in person though.

I am debating on doing the same exact thing with my 2010 BSP taco, does anyone have a picture of what a BSP taco with a black honeycomb grill looks like?

Can anyone confirm any noticeable color difference between the 2006 Black sand pearl and a 2011 black grill? I know they're labeled different but I like the honeycomb style too.

Black is black. You won't notice if there was a color difference.

The only difference would be how faded the paint is on the 06 vs the 11 lol
