Watching this show right now where they are searching for other planets that may have life on them.

Let me throw something at you and you tell me what you think...

The sun is our "star". Each star has planets (or large rocks) orbiting around them. So how many stars are there?

This means there are TRILLIONS OF TRILLIONS of planets out there orbiting stars (or suns). Chances seem pretty good that one of them has life on it. Why would ours be the only one?

I don't believe aliens have ever visited us. If so, they would be curious to learn about us and from us.

Do you think I'm crazy or that there is a logical possibility that life exists outside of earth?

I think if you consider microscopic organisms "aliens" then there is DEFINITELY life on other planets!

    I agree with this 100%

However, I think that this will be a lifelong question. I believe the principles of Heisenberg apply not only to electrons, but on the universe on a large scale. We know the universe is expanding, albeit at what rate? What is being created along with the new "space." Is matter simply traveling further and further apart? or are the laws of physics being broken and matter is being created? we may never know.... :alien:

Yes, I definitely consider micro-organisms to be life forms. I also think we evolved from those micro-organisms.

I think it is very plausable that another planet is sitting the same distance from their star as we are from ours. This would provide the proper temperatures to sustain life. Where does the life come from...possibly meteorites from other life inhabiting planets that collided or exploded in another solar system.

    I believe in science first...

Along those lines, I got extra credit in physics for attending a guest lecturer one evening who spoke about his theory of the universe. It was FASCINATING

I don't think our scientists know SHIT about the "big picture". We are only a couple hundred years from thinking the earth was flat. We think we know the answers, much like early vikings knew the earth was flat.

The Universe is endless - so endless that its even mind boggling to try and think about it. I call that... GOD.

Yes, there is life out there.

Earth will not last forever and life on this planet will also disappear with it. The amount of time the Earth has harbored life is only a very very small BLIP of time in terms of the Universe.

There are an endless amount of planetary objects out there in different stages of life.... which, all could harbor life. What kind of life? How long has life been sustained? What type of intelligence do they have?

The question becomes - of all the life that has ever existed & died out on various planets over time....and including life that currently exists and will exist in the future... WHO or WHEN will an intelligent life form develope the ability to travel / communicate across the universe to discover life on other planets?

Will the Earth last long enough? Long enough for us to sustain ourselves somewhere else? Will the earth last long enough for us to have the intelligence & technology to travel/communicate father into the galaxy/universe?

(Ok...WAY too much deep thinking for this time of the day)
