    While I generally agree with much of your post. I must take opposition to the part I snipped above.

    For one, great trim carpentry skills take more than a day to master. Secondly, as a young carpenter I was making over $15 an hour in the 1980's. Today, any finish carpenter worth his salt earns at minimum $25-30 an hour...and it should be more.

    Lastly, you mentioned yourself a recent grad at the time...any finish carpenter earning top wages has put in his time, and it is not his 1st day on the job.

    One thing I try not to do is believe another mans profession is easier than it looks. It usually is not.
