    Catch Can looks good!
I need to go find one of these drain valves. A little annoying getting oil on the hands when removing the screw on the bottom of the can

Well I had a few minutes today so I finalized the install of my catch can. Started it up and ran it for a while to check things and so far so good. I will know better after some miles are put on if the 1/4" tubing inside the intake fitting has a negative effect. I reset "Trip B" to track the canister mileage. I still need to go by Toyota and pick up a #1220431030 ($7.43) PCV valve to replace mine. I wanted to test my setup before adding in another variable to the equation.

is that the ebay canister? do you need to run an inline gas-like filter? do i need a new PCV when i do mine?

Yes I purchased the canister on ebay. I do not think the inline fuel filter is a must but another TW member did it and it seems like a good idea to be able to visually monitor the system to see if any oil makes it past the canister. Changing your PCV valve is up to you, it used to be part of any normal tuneup so I replace mine. They are cheap and so it just makes sense to have a new one.

This is the one that I purchased but I did modify it to suit my needs.

Thanks, the inline filter was not my idea, there is another thread of a homemade unit that a TW member did and he used one in his install, looked like a good idea. I haven't decided at what mileage I will first check the canister oil level, probably 500.

Oh, and sorry for jumping in on your thread, I just thought if they were combined it would show more ideas, methods, and results, without adding an additional thread. This way people can see several installs and choose the method, or combination there of, they want to use.

Yeah i saw that first one. tempted to add it to mine.
    500 seems about right.

And no worries man! I actually encourage it so everyone can see different options!

I do not know if yours will come with internal baffles, mine did not. Look back in this thread to see the 1/4" wire mesh (gutter guard material from Home Depot) that I used to form two baffles with the mesh 90 degrees from the other to allow the oil vapor to condense, collect, and run down into the canister before the exhaust port could pick it up and send it to the breather.

i did see that and thats a good idea, but lookin at pictures it looks like the one i ordered doesnt come apart or split in half so i dont know if there is or isnt mesh in it. guess ill have to wait and see

So I'm beginning to do some research on different types of catch cans. Wanting that warm fuzzy feeling of having all the crap staying outta my intake :)

I was searching through eBay and found a few models with air filters ontop of them. Why are those there and what's the purpose?

hmmm, i think that wouldnt work on our truck if everyone is say everything has to be air tight, with an lil filter on top i dont think the whole assembly would be air tight and then itll throw codes
    looks fancy tho

I was thinking the same actually. Just curious as to the point of it. Thanks for the response buddy. Are there any good cheap ones on eBay with baffles? Can't seem to find one.

Build thread in sig... 4-link long travel
It's been discussed earlier in the thread, and in some other threads on the topic.

the ones with breathers on top are for boosted applications.

there are no lower cost (ebay and Amazon) cans that come eith baffles. you will have to make your own. as long as the top of bottom of your can comes completely off, they will be very easy to add.
