My Tacoma had a run in with a stump that broke off a piece of the bottom side of the bumper cover and buckled/dented the plastic. The bottom part can't be seen, but the dent looks terrible. I am looking for a away to get the dent out. Is there anything I should try? Heating up the plastic and trying to push it back out, or will that just mess up the paint?

Or a cheap place to get new bumper covers that are painted silver? I have checked with the local junk yards and they don't have anything.

Hmmm, I really don't have any other suggestions but to pay your deductible and let a body shop put on a new one. Or you might could use the opportunity to get a nice plate or hybrid bumper!

    Yeah.
RockAuto has them for about $50 bucks primed but unpainted. I think the dealers can sell you the paint in a rattle can. Since it is silver, don't paint it in the cold or high humidity. Go over it with a clear coat. Prep it well, it's all in the prep.

Bumper covers for this truck are cheap! Like under $100 then you have to get it painted also which could cost you $300 or more.

I wouldnt suggest painting with a rattle can because a bad paint job will show up there more than anywhere else on the truck because of how many rocks will hit it.

I would say either expect to pay $500 to get it looking like new or try and warm it up a bit and fix it as best you can and live with it.

you could try heating it from behind with a hair dryer or better yet heat gun and slowly pushing it out and shaping it. i did that when my wife backed into my truck with her camry, she had a nice dent in her bumper, it worked out good

Most shops can fix small dents in bumper covers, they do it all the time. But you also seem to be missing a little chunk of the bumper cover on the bottom as well. I would go to a local shop to check the cost to repair it...

when you say primed, does it look similar to how the base black cover looks?

Just the extent of the damage, it will not be worth the cost for a shop to fix it right. It's missing a piece, is cracked, and dented. I would try DIY or have paintless dent repair guys look at it. I would attempt to repair it myself by gluing a small sheet of plastic and bondo that missing piece. If you have a large enough C-clamp and 2 square pieces of wood to sandwich that dented area, heat that area while clamping to see if it will 'iron' out. Then prep and paint just that repaired area. A little mismatch will not be that noticeable. Worse case if you are uneasy about painting it, try black vinyl on that lower portion of the bumper to customize. Just follow the factory lines on the bumper.

For the cost, and time it would take to even consider repair, just replace it. Get an aftermarket one, as they're cheap (fitment can be poor, but should be decent enough) and you can get it sprayed at a Maaco shop for cheap.

    Yeah.
In the pictures they look gray. Most likely they are repaired/refurbs, but who cares at that price.
