I just got my second fix-it ticket for not having mine. I have my fender flares removed and wide tires with offset rims. I was just asking for it it haha. But now it's time to put some legit permanent ones on there.

    Thought I'd share. Thanks.

I voted moded/shortened. It was a mod that came naturally backing up out of my driveway and out of my parking stall at work. Only the passenger rear remains; will have to get a new set on soon.

Why? I trimmed mine before the lift and now that it's lifted I wish they were longer.

The bottom of the flap isn't the problem, it's the bump on the inside.

I took the truck off the pavement for the first time, damn - those things hit ANYTHING. How easily do they damage the fender? I was worried when I'd come down some rocks and hear the noise, hoping they were flexing instead of transmitting the forces into the fender.

I need to swap them for flexible ones. Why the hell did Toyota switch to these rigid ones? Seems like the stupidest design change I can possibly think of. I'm jealous of my coworker's 2004 with the flex flaps.

I got around to trimming my front mud flaps by 7" today. They turned out great and I'm much happier with them now. Not 100% happy with one of my corners on the drivers side flap but it's just me being anal retentive and I'll get over it with time. I don't think anybody else would even notice lol. I used sheet metal sheers and cut them off straight then traced the corners with the piece i cut off and used sheers made for making corners on those parts. Then I just used some 80 grit sandpaper to smooth the edges out and it turned out great. They are still a little lower than halfway down the center of the wheel so they should still catch the majority of the rocks and stuff that would be thrown up onto the sides of the truck. I will try to get a picture up tomorrow.

And if anybody else managed to break a few of those little plastic clips like I did the Toyota part # is 90467-07188 and cost me $1.15 each.

Sooooo, I noticed you posted that this is done over in the "What did you do today" thread.

    Got pics? :)

With all the snow we've had in the last 3 weeks (and the fact that I'm awaiting tomorrow's arrival of a new belt for my tractor's snowblower so I can finish cleaning the yard), I've ripped off my second set of stock flaps and I'm not about to go buying more of them...

Going to go this route (or similar), and I'd be happy to copy a nice clean install...

    Cheers,
    Marc
