650H1 yea i know it would be a easy flip but i've always liked these trucks and i know once i get her up and running again, with proper maintance, they run forever. I have 172k on my 2000 runner and it still runs like a new truck, it does'nt leak or even burn i drop of oil. 4 years ago or so i sold my lifted 1985 toyota p/u, because of a rusted frame. That truck with its straight front axle, lockers and the bullet proof 22r was unstoppable, man i miss that truck.

Before you spent money on cylinder heads, drop the oil pan to see if there is any metal in the oil pan...

Great deal on the truck, congratulations! That is a steal of a lifetime!

I'll give you $600 cash right now for it.

What an awesome deal. What about swapping in the 4.7 V8? I've heard of it done on 2nd gens, not sure about 1st gens or if it would fit, but a V8 in there would be sweet!

I wouldn't even think of putting just heads on it and crossing my fingers. Seeing that cam I would pull the entire engine and at the least do a hone with new rings, bearings, and a new oil pump. The heads are the most expensive part of the engine so you might actually find it cheaper to buy a complete used engine than it is a good set of heads. A couple days ago there was a guy on CL in Mass. selling a complete 150k motor with wiring, ecu, clutch, and tranny from a 95.5 for $300. Wish I had the money as it would have been a nice thing just to have...

Mach1man i called LKQ on wed. and spoke to a guy named Scott, can't remember his last name but i have his info at work, and he told me he only had re-man's for $3300.00 I'm skeptical about re-man's because they are'nt built with toyota internals.

depending on what you're doing with it, i'd drop a 2JZ in a 500 dollar truck. I've driven a forerunner with a 2JZ swap, and holy shit.

I put that info in right from work. I'm not there now but the one's I listed were in MA and TN. Don't be too afraid of the rebuilds that they sell. LKQ owns ATK the largest motor reman company in the country and they completely go through everything. They come with a 36 month unlimited mileage parts and labor warranty.
