My taco I recently purchased is just out of warranty, so I talked to my local dealer about doing the rear TSB and they told me they can do it for $600 and this would include front and rear shocks and the 4 leaf pack. Is this a good deal or can I get the same thing accomplished for less.

Aftermarket springs for less money if you can install yourself. The TSB pack still sucks.

You can get the wheeler or like complete leaf packs for $200 per pack, so $400 total plus about $100 in shipping, and just install them yourself for less, and get a top quality leaf pack. Or just get a ICON or Wheelers Progressive AAL kit for $200. Dont go through the dealer, not worth it.

Depends, is that the installed price or just for parts?

You can get an allpro leaf pack and 4 Bilstein 5100 shocks for about $700 and it will be a better investment than the stock parts

Better than the price the stealership quoted me here in oregon, they quoted me 1800.00 installed. I'm just going with an AAL instead with ride rite wire bags that I have installed already.

$642.00 is for labor and they will cover the part price.

Thanks looking in to the Allpro, 5100 combo now. Should I go with the height adjustable shocks in the front?

Depends what you can afford. Coilovers are awesome. But are more pricey.

Can the adjustable ride height 5100s be used with the stock TRD springs?

Will I compromise anything by using this combo? Not looking for lift or offroad capabilities just better towing and axle wrap cure.

    nothing cool
$600 for the rear leaf pack, shocks all around, and labor from a dealership? that's actually not a bad deal. i only say that because my rear leaf TSB was over $1200 (free under warranty). i will say the rear leaf TSB ain't all that great when compared to others. but it works nice for me. i had well over 700 lbs of landscape stone (70 edge pavers roughly 2.5 lbs each) in my truck bed and had zero problems

Yes, that's a good deal for the labor, new bilstein shocks/struts, and rear springs.

The only question he should be asking is will the springs be enough extra carrying capacity. I can't help with that, I don't have the TSB.

It sucked and still bottomed on speed bumps. Only reason I got it was because it was free. Drove home pulled it of and replaced with all pro expos and sold it.

Kinda confused, after looking at Allpro 's website it's showing Standard and Expedition springs 3" lift not sure what to get here ? I do have a bead on adjustable 5100s for front and 5100s for rear.

They are both 3" lift. One is made to handle 400 pounds and still have 3" of lift. I was just throwing those out there.

Also look into OMD leafs. There is a thread here. Depends on how mechanically inclined you are.

Why are they covering the leaf spring cost if it is truly out of eligibilty for the TSB? Something doesnt sound right here....

Is the Allpro gonna give more lift? I am not opposed to lift just want to make sure everything is gonna function correctly and be compatible. Or is there some other leaf pack I should use? I'm good doing the work myself. The only reason I asked the dealer, Was to see what they could do as far as good faith warranty. I am not sure the TSB would last or give me what I want for 600+ dollars. It is looking like aftermarket is the way to go (more bang for the buck).

I don't think the TSB will accomplish what you're after. I would research leaf packs and see what best fits you but even a progressive AAL might work. You could also get some sort of traction bar outfitted on your rig, that'd help axle wrap immensely and with some air bags you could have more load capacity, while not increasing ride height. If that's what you're after.

Theres a couple different ways to do it here so... I'd take your time and consider the options and cost of each.

Some of the problems with lifting the rear is that you'll then want to lift the front. Many owners opt to get aftermarket UCAs after lifting the front as it's harder if not all impossible to get it to IDEAL alignment specs. Some don't notice or care, some do. For me I got tired of the floaty feeling and went with LR UCAs. Then again, I know plenty of people with 3" lifts who don't have a problem with stock UCAs.
