I was at the Redmond, Or show last weekend. They had a couple of pallets of 55gr 5.56 for $500/1000 and it was sold out in a few hours. The ammo guy was doing the touchdown dance on the empty pallets. Nacho's still has it for $375/1000 but it's only one per customer.

    Odd thing happened tonight

It's midnight and I had the doorbell ring, then some knocking. I used to be in a bad neighborhood where this meant some shit was about to go down. I bombed over to the safe and pulled out my gun, then went about peeking through the front door and the windows.

    Nothing out there.

Next I'm checking out the windows to the back yard and stuff (I have no fence, maybe they are trying to scope out my place?). Nothing there.

About this time I think to myself, "hey, that was some awful polite knocking... maybe I left something outside or there's something wrong? Or maybe it's a trap?" I go back to get my holster and creep outside. As soon as the door's open, I hear this female, 'hello, sir?' My stomach ran inside the house, My body stands stock still, and my mind thinks this is all very odd while I hear myself say, "what. do you. want."

Apparently it was my neighbor and she was trying to tell me about a gas leak she think she smelled. I tell her I have no gas and I go back inside.

I'm trying to figure out if I was in danger or if it was legit... soon enough I see the fire trucks pulling up. "oh, I guess I probably better exit whatever they are headed towards"
It turns out the female voice was my neighbor that shares the same duplex as me, and she smelled gas in her apartment. The firemen do their thing (smelled like gas, but their meter doesn't read anything), call it clean, and we get to head back in after about 30 minutes.

Pretty crazy way of getting to meet my neighbor, but not all bad. She's not bad looking and nice to talk to when you are standing out in the rain in a t-shirt around midnight :) Glad my opening line was "I have no gas"

Yeah, it is right now. As soon as CNN called 'bama the winner I clicked the checkout button on the same ammo at $349/1000. By the end of the next day I had cleaned out every bimart and ranch and home within 100 miles of here, and all the online retailers had jacked up the price to $400/1000 lol. I already had a decent supply, but I like to shoot a lot and don't want to decrease my training schedule just because that jackwagon got another four years. Time to start reloading 5.56 I guess, but man that is time consuming.

1)The gun should have been next to the bed.
2)you need a door with a keyhole camera, or some of the yard ornament wifi cameras.
3)I like the viridian green laser, it's bright enough to clear the house with just the ambient light and is an effective non lethal deterrent with the visible beam.
    4)quit being a pussy.

I was in a different room
I'm trying not to modify my rental. Yard thing would be nice since the hole in the door is near crap. I spent all yesterday hacking down a bush that prevented me from seeing 3 feet past the front door. I can't do much about outside lighting - porch light is all I have, and we don't have a street light for 2+ houses in either direction. I've got a nice pit of darkness.
I haven't bothered with lasers because they aren't holster friendly most of the time
I'll remember to shoot my neighbor next time ;)

So, it has been a long time since I drove through Oregon in the winter. How is I84 during December? I know it's easier to drive it than 26 across Bend.

It should be ok, just check the weather before your trip.

hate when auto parts stores dont know what the fuck your talking about, and you know you are clearly correct because you have spent half hour researching about the part and tracking down the location of one.

I need to buy new furniture and i wanted to look for a new tv. i know for tvs and stuff they only sell like a few at the really low price, but do they still have some deals later on in the day?

for a TV I hope you brought a tent and plan on setting it up tomorrow. Otherwise just get your research done for cyber monday and be ready to click faster than other people.
    furniture I have no idea.

Personally, I like to go around 6am - 8am in Salem.
-All the mobs are in Portland/Beaverton/Woodburn
-I'm going at a time where all the hardcore people are gone, but before everyone else wakes up to create the next big mob.
I still get some deals out of it and don't have to deal with all the jabbas.

damn i was hoping that wasnt the case with the tvs. guess i'll just wait for cyber monday for that. My parents were coming up here for thanksgiving, so they wanted to go ikea and stuff, but i figure that will be really crowded too. On the website it says that woodburn is open at 9pm on thursday...you tihnk its better to go early morning friday instead of late night thursday
