    Contrary to what you think, I bet they do serve a purpose. I keep mine on so that I have some extra protection from the old farts that like to do door dings. I've got a few marks on mine that would have definitely been a door ding.

    ah, thats like my FREE WINDSHIELD CRACK FIX stuffs.. they will fix a ding, fine, but if its over 3 inches they give you a $300 deductible for a new windshield.. when a new windshield is $300.. So.. good times.
