What makes this a bad snow tire?

    my dad has those on his 3/4 ton, that he uses to plow, and hates them. they really do suck in the snow.

    Best guess would be slight differences in tread compounds between the LT and P rated tires.

    Icon Stage 2 w/ overload left in, SPC LR UCA, 265/75 16 BFG KO2, front and rear Weathertech floor liners, OEM (Extang) solid fold tonneau, OEM bed mat, OEM front skid plate, OEM billet oil cap, "TOYOYA" tailgate decal
    I have these in a P rated, and they are severe snow rated. And if you notice there are some LT which are and some which are not. Here is a link to the Tire Rack explanation for why some are and some aren't. Also here is an attached explanation from Continental Tire, owner of General.
