I would like to put a small lift on my truck and install some 33's. The suspension packages that Eastern Off Road offers vary between $2,800 and $4,800. That's alot of dough even though the more expensive lift was by icon. My question is, is there a way to lift the truck a less expensive way and still have a good ride on the road? I don't plan on going off road much and my priority is to not sacrifice ride comfort on the highway.
    Thanks,
    Mike

If anybody is interested I've got a new pelican 1610 and 1620, $225 for the set.

They run $200 each new from the store.

Thank you for the quick reply. It seems the first option is nearly double the price of the second. Is there a benefit from buying the complete kit?

    Thanks again,
    Mike

The first one has better quality shocks and has a full leaf pack. The second has just an add a leaf (AAL) pack that replaces your overload spring in the rear. The first one is defenately the better quality lift, not the second is not far behind. The best part about it is, either one you choose, if you ever decide to off road, you are in the entry level to do so.

You really think the Nitros are better than the Bilsteins? I know they ride better, but from what I hear, the Bilsteins are less probe to fade and overheating...

Thanks, I'll be in touch once we decide what we want to do. BTW, do you know a youtube channel that illustrates how to install off road lights. I bought the N-Fab light bar and I have some KC lights to install. I wanted to give the dash a "stock" look.
    Cheers,
    Mike

This week or next weekend. No rush as I'm still expecting the light bar some time this week.
    Cheers,

Keep an eye on the FS threads in here and local craigs list. You can do it pretty inexpensive if you pick up parts as they become avail... then just round us up with some food and drink and we'll show you \ help you get it done. I think the most we've done in 1 day is 4 Langley?)... but one is MUCH smarter and faster!!!!!!

You can also get a ride from any of us if you want to see what the different suspensions do. I can tell you since I dropped to 885s from 886's in front... My ride is MUCH better. It's as smooth as.. or better than stock.

What's the actual difference between the 885's and the 886's?

The 885 has a lower spring rate, the 886 has a higher one (to compensate for bumper/winch/armor)

I think I will add the 885's into the shopping cart instead then.

Another words... 886's are stiff as hell without that extra weight. I have the 5100s and 885s which rides Very smooth.
