What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

Yeah it handled it very well, the cab didn't cave in much at all.

they might have but this was 3weeks ago...

 

Took the bed off, removed old, blown shocks/bumpstops, took apart my junkyard 63" chevy leaf springs, cleaned/painted them, painted my skid plate, and bought a crap load of hardware to mount up my new rear suspension after church tomorrow and the day after. *crossingfingers*

My frame rails put holes through my old one. (rearended someone, and hit a dear) Im thinking about swapping in an 01 instead of going back with the 98

 

oh thats not too bad nowhere near new but managable ill hit them up within the week

 

Welded my antenna mount on and installed my roof racks.

I installed the diff drop kit today and was hoping to install the Toytec Coilover as well but I can't remove the 3 small nuts on top of the shock tower!! I already partially stripped one, also tryed to heat them up with a torch but they won't come out! What to do?

How bad is it to have the diff drop kit installed with a stock suspension?

 

Did you soak with PB Blast? Try this..its majical. Let it soak over night.

 

diff drop is really not even necessary. I have one but its not helping or hurting anything. I am at a 2.5 inch front lift.

 

Installing my new marlin crawler clutch today.



My old pilot and throw-out bearings were trashed, and I got my flywheel re-surfaced.

 

Got my new LED dash lights in. They are much more red in person.

New plugs old gap was .090 holy crap

Gapped to .043 spec

You don't need the dual electrode kind?

 

Honestly looks like some tried to over use those and kept sanding the crud off and never regapped it thats the only thing i can think of that would cause that

 

I found the squeaks and creeks ( all three lol) I hope they stay away for a while lol

 

Wired up an L.E.D. hood light with a switch to work on engine at night.


And added an extra set of blinkers to my brush guard to help with seeing over the bright HIDs since i relocated my blinkers up to the old running lights spot and made the factory blinkers my "fog lights"

 

Nope only the 3.4 does not 2.7

They were original, they have never been taken out no scratches on them. Also cyl 3 the boot was covered in oil so It looks like ill be pulling the valve cover and doing new orings
