Being your own hair stylist when you're bald, hardly constitutes your own company.

Come on Andrew, what do you do for a living? I'm calling you out. I know your still a kid. Your a student at WVU. Back home you work for your daddy. I was walkin steel when you were home playing with your little sisters barbies. Extensive safety traning? You bet your ass! And I thank God for it. You spend the day five miles under ground, or 160 feet in the air on a 6 inch I beam. Then lets talk union. So don't come on a thread marked "union members unite" and run your mouth about how unions are'nt needed. Spend one day with me sunny boy, and I'll show you what a man does for a living.

Where does one walk on ibeam five miles underground? I've been underground plenty of times, never seen anything that deep. Worked for a few mines, received plenty of safety training. Never union.

    edit: okay

    fixed;)

But yeah I have a ton of respect for Iron workers. Union or non union. But, I live in VA, where the word Union doesnt really go over well. Most of the Union houses for workers here are located in DC or MD

I know I'm comming across hard core union. The truth is there's some things that really piss me off about union's. It's not needed most places. Small buisiness? Hell no! I guess what got under my skin was an 18 year old kid telling a man he was washed up, or whatever he said. I run a crew of anyware from 5 to 25 guys. Ages 18 to 60. There is no way in hell I would put up with that kind of disrespect from anyone.

That's fair but the truth is businesses are in business to stay in business and make a profit. You can work as hard as you want but if you're not actually providing any value, producing, then you're not of any worth to the company. You're not entitled to a job, even if you do work hard. That's just how it is. I think that's a fair thing to say and I think that's all he was trying to say.

If you look at a businesses pie chart for expenses wages are a small piece of the pie.

When you go to the doctor what are you paying for? Is it the work preformed, or the knowledge he has? Its both. I know what your saying. I want an honest dollar, and the company deserves an honest hour. It has to be a happy marriage. If it isn't we lose twinkies. Unions are so vastly different it really isn't accurate to pass judgment on them as a singular entity.
