    Who knows maybe you'll find something that will give ARB some competition and they will have to readjust their prices, which would help everybody

    Well in that other thread on TTora they quoted the guy $1400 for a 1st gen locker and that wasn't even counting shipping it to the US...

    Got another quote from a caadian dealer and he says 1600-1800....... Yeah im gonna try direct vs through a 3rd party.

    That's a lot better than I thought. I expected overseas shipping to be more expensive, although I guess a locker isn't all that big.

    yah its not that bad, you still have the duties to deal with yet, which in canada can get expensive

    Like i said I would in think in canada your looking at around 2k before you can install it

    No reason to, since from what I understand the front clamshells are identical on the Hiluxes and tacos. Unless he plans on doing the work himself or has a good place in mind already to do the work for him, I wonder if he could ship the locker to ECGS and get them to install it in a regeared clamshell and then just send them his old diff.

    I'm just gonna buy fancy dancy ARB'd diffs from ECGS. Comes with warranty too. Not sure if they'd warranty one of these lockers.

    Why not just go with arb at almost half the price of one of these harrop ones? 1600 for just the locker?!

    I'm curious about what kind of locker it is. Just two wires, and a magnetic engagement type? Because if it has an actuator than you'd need the whole differential and carrier for the front.

    Wasting money isn't very different :rolleyes: unless there's a sweet ass price and its half the cost of arb.... I don't see any advantage.

    Why not just go with TJM to be different?

    Hi Tony

    Thankyou for your email and interest in Harrop Performance Products!

    Unfortunately, we do not deal with the Tacoma at all in Australia but accoding to the 2013 Eaton Application Guide the Tacoma has a different 8.4” rear in which Eaton USA manufactures both a Detroit Locker and Detroit TrueTrac for but no ELocker option.

    Harrop manufactures an A10994 front ELocker, which we confim suits the Prado 120, Hilux 2005 onwards and the FJ cruiser. This unit suits ratios < 3.73:1 only.

    If you are using a ratio > 3.91:1 then the A11110 will be required.

    I spoke to our traction engineer with regards to your ratio and carrier question and he has stated that our ELockers are engineered based on factory diffs and gear sets. Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee an answer your question without physically testing the gear set you have. You will need to contact and discuss this with the gear manufacturer. If they are unable to give you an answer, we may be able to get some more details from you and have a look.

    Provided you fill out and return your warranty registration form (located in the ELocker box), you will receive a full 3 year manufacturer’s warranty. If this form is not returned to us, you will simply receive a 12 month manufacturer’s warranty.

    That and he is worried about condensation from the compressed air eventually killing his locker, since he lives in a colder climate than half of the US.
