looks good. but shouldn't you have the snowboard centered more on the racks? seams like their is A LOT at one end, instead of about the same amount on front and back of the rack.

Thanks. not sure what you mean. I have it off set to the left for easy access..and this was before I loaded a couple more on the rack :)

Oh I see what you mean. I put it more forward to go in between the bindings.

oh. ok. idk i would maybe move them back a little. put the back bar behind the back binding, and the front bar closer to the front bar,(like right in front or right behind the front binding, and the back bar right behind the back binding.) i just think that it would be easier on the rack and the board. the end of the board has to be “bouncing” just a little going down the road. idk but over time it may start wearing or damaging the board or rack.

also i know you are suppose to have them so far apart.

yeah, you could even put it more to the driver side if you wanted. do what another member did, get one of the small ski boxes and throw all your gear(boots, pants, jackets, and all your friends stuff) in it and have the board on that rack.

haha. i’m trying to think of a goos set up for my stuff. last year i mostly rode with my buddy and he has a fj with the snowboard rack that fits just 2. i have thought about, doing cross bars kinda like you did. than doing the fat cat off set to one side as far as i can, than one of the small ski boxes for gear. have also thought about seeing what i could do under a soft-topper. may just get soft-topper and a snowboard bag and just throw it all in the bed.

Yeah I needed a rack. its a pain in the ass trying to secure boards just laying in the bed. that rack I have can fit four board or 8 skis. I like the ski box idea..keep the cab spacious. if you want to do the bed rack..I had to buy the mounts from http://www.summitracks.com/

yeah, i have a nice rubber mat in my bed now. i think i may just get one of those black boxes wal mart has, and tie that into the bed and have a soft topper. i want to build a roof rack, so i may come up with some detachable cross bars for it to mount a fat cat to.(i think the fat cat is the one you have that holds 4 board or 8 skis)

roof racks are cool..but man they kill your mileage. and i drive over 100 miles one way to the slopes. and the fat cat is like mine but more aerodynamic

yeah they do. i was going to build one thats kinda low. maybe 5” or so, than 3” or so off the roof. i’m going to put a 20” led light bar on the front, and a acrylic faring in front of that.

ya, and thanks. i got to save a little and get a welder and everything first. but collinb17 made one for another FL member. and i’m going to build mine almost exactly like his. you can look at the “roof rack poll” thread and see it.
