Not a quote per-say, but important none the less. There has never been a democratic country in history that has ever survived without a middle class.

Now take that into context and look at where the fastest growth is- in China and India- where the middle class is growing faster than anywhere else, and put two and two together. Doesn't exactly bode well for the USA.
