Today I volunteered at an elementary school all day for the Great American Teach In. It was an awesome experience!

I recently had an interesting evening of firsts

    1) I tried to kill a Rabbit for the first time
    2) Saw my wife attempting to kill a rabbit with a shovel for the first time
    3) Police came to my door for trying to kill a rabbit for the first time
    4) Experienced a rabbit being shot with a beebee gun, hit over the head with a shove, wrapped up in a bag and thrown in the trash, survived the brutal attach, got out of the trash can and lastly get mutilated by a pack of coyotes for the very first time.

Stupid rabbits, felt really bad for this little guy though after all said and done.

made three gallons of homemade chicken stock after using putting a razor's edge on a brandnew axe, and chopping the chicken heads off. learned to skin a chicken in less then 5 minutes.

Cool thread but, somewhat of a disappointment for me because I can't remember the last time I did something for the first time. :( Of course, everyday is pretty much like my first day on a lot of things.

    I don't know Amargosa Dunes.
The dune is two miles long and 600 feet (180 m) high. It lies on the edge of the ancient Lake Lahontan, that for the most part dried up 9,000 years ago.
Off road vehicle of every size and description race up and down this hill at up to 90 miles an hour. On holiday weekends some of the fastest hill climbers in the country come to compete in unofficial races up and down the mountain. They (Can-Am) didn't let us climb Sand Mountain we only got to ride the trails & smaller dunes around it.

Two days ago I visited Lake Superior and the UP of Michigan for the first time. Beautiful place, checked out Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore and went wading in 40 degree water!! I fell in love. Already talked a friend into going with me next summer :) And I saw my first moose! LOL

went on a zip line for the 1st time this last summer. the first jump was the hardest and scariest (not a big fan of heights  ) but it turned out to be pretty fun!

    lisa_2ecfcc47b20a8a445af99589e0429b0a4ba98f8e.jpg

My "firsts" usually revolve around trips and places that I visit. Like Yellowstone for example. I'm down there so often that it can get a little routine so I try to find hikes or side roads to explore along the way and make each trip unique. This last summer I went over Chief Joseph pass and entered Yellowstone through the East entrance for the 1st time ever...and I've been to Yelly dozens of times. I also took another trip to Yelly & Grand Teton parks and stayed on dirt roads almost the entire way. The trip took almost twice as long as if I had stayed on the highways but the scenery made it worthwhile. And I went to a TW meet in Idaho this summer and traveled over 150 miles on dirt in 3 days and saw areas of MT and ID that I never knew existed!
