I still maintain the spoiled children are pissed and will pull off an upset. I don't think Lee is going to sit around and let the game be dictated by the domers D. They aren't that good of D anyway. UGA could still lose to GSU this weekend, then beat Alabama in the SEC champ game and put us back on top if Flo-rida loses. Then, back to Oregon vs KState.

 

Highly unlikely......but everyone has a fairytale wish I guess.

 

UGA is playing Georgia Tech this upcoming weekend, not GSU, and I have no doubt that UGA will win that game... and I'm a Georgia Tech grad..

I'm with you on the USC upset, I do hope the Domers go down.

As mentioned all about money and MD will make enough more to reopen some other sports they closed down.

 

Sorry guys I'm gonna have to go against the grain. As bad as I hate Notre Dame I'd rather see them win so that Bama can exact some revenge in the Nat'l Championship game for beating us in the '73 Sugar Bowl when we were #1 and the the following year in the Orange Bowl when we were ranked #2. And if we happen not to make it to the 'ship I'll be happy for UGA to repeat their '80 'ship. Yeah I know, I'm talking old school... literally.

 

X2 good for THEM, but not good overall. Pretty sure their fanbase and alumni are sad to see some of the rivalries go away.

 

I hate Notre Dame. I hope they get dismantled this weekend. But, if they don't, both of these scenarios work very well for me

I posted this picture on a coworkers computer... all last week he was picking on us SEC guys celebrating that there'd finally be a NC without the SEC...LOL

 

Maryland never had any natural rivals in the ACC. In football we had Virginia, but Virginia has a stronger rivalry with Virginia Tech. In basketball we had North Carolina and Duke, but our rivalry with those schools were never as big as their rivalries with each other. The ACC also made it much easier for Maryland to leave by adding Syracuse and Pitt because Maryland was assigned a "rivalry" with Pitt in basketball, which took the place of the rivalry with Duke.

Does Maryland belong in the Big Ten? Absolutely not. Are Maryland fans pissed? Absolutely. But in the end, Maryland never belonged in the All Carolina Conference, so we are not losing much.

If you finish last in either football conference anyway, you might as well collect some extra cash.

Get ready for more conference realignment...

 

Rivalry weekend and ESPN's college pick'em doesn't have Bama vs. Auburn..?

 

So if MD fans had their choice, which conference would they be in if not the Big 10 or ACC?

 

Most fans would have preferred staying in the ACC (not for football reasons, but for all other sports like basketball, soccer, lacrosse). I would have preferred staying in the ACC because I am not a fan of these super conferences driven solely by money, but what the ACC is now, is completely different from the conference that many Maryland fans grew up with.

 

WHen this fucker showed up at Texas to talk to Mack Brown about Lache Seastrunck he was promptly told to fuck right off and dont come back.

FSU and clempson to the big 12 talk will start up again. How did MD get the money for the ACC buy out?
