lol very unlikely im gonna run a dana 60 that's like a 10" ring gear that's giant hubs will be the weak link even if i have to take a spline or two out to make sure they are the weak link. 80bucks for a pair of hubs my cost and i don't even have to put a jack under it to fix them that's what im talking about.

Ah got ya. I misunderstood your first post. Haha. Yeah hubs would be an easy fix and the cost looks to be cheaper than cv's. Now you need to find me dana 60 front and a good rear end as well;)

When you get around to doing the SAS, let me know and if I'm free I can help you out if you need some.

Im gonna be a at least 3 years away from a sas. Wife wants a BBS (bigger boob swap) first. that's like all my links and springs and most of my steering as far a cost goes.

Yup, 37's and IFS without ever breaking a single CV, but I'm also running 300M axles in them. I don't lock the front unless I'm stuck though, and that almost never happens, so it doesn't get much use. I have gone through several sets of boots though, and in fact I have an outer puking right now I need to get fixed soon...

How do you think the OEM cv's would fare with 37's? I actually use my front locker fairly often. I prefer finesse to speed since the truck is still so nice and new. haha

Torque is what breaks axles. Torque spikes when things bind, so if you don't bind you will get many happy miles on the trail with 37's. I have a stock rear end with 4.88's and don't have any issues, but I also don't bind it up.
1)If you're in the air let off the gas (at high speed or bouncing in 4lo)

2)If you are chattering the tires and binding up,back up and hit it faster.

3)Smooth application of throttle, it's not a dirtbike.

Following these three rules will make anything with a steering wheel last a lot longer in the dirt.

Yeah, I am pretty gentle on the throttle generally. At least in 4Lo. 2wd is another story on occasion:D

I don't think number 1 is an issue, well hopping in 4Lo is possible.

What do you mean by chattering the tires?

I working on number 3:D With the 4.88's, 4Lo and 1st gear the throttle is pretty touchy now, although it isn't a big issue. Every once in a while I push it a little more than I meant too. haha

Yeah, that's a great way to break stuff. I had a K5 blazer on Dana 44F/14 bolt rear, 35" bfg and a 383 stroker motor putting out 475hp to the wheels. I learned how to break every part of the drivetrain, how to fix it, and subsequently how to avoid breaking it in the future. Seemed like every time I stood on it something would break. Then I had an epiphany, followed those three rules, and drove that K5 for many miles without chucking a single driveline or grenading a single diff. Yeah the "fun" answer is to just overbuild and continue driving like a moron, but I expect reasonable longevity out of 'yota stuff if I do my part as the wheel man.

I can snap an axle like a toothpic if i want. sometimes wheel hop is the only way to make an obstical. but for some reason i have yet to break an axle in moab. here in idaho on the other hand is where ive broken all 12 of mine so far. thank god for life time warranty.
