    I'm going from rifle to bow. haha. Bow definitely takes more skill, hence the switch to it. And bow season is a month, whereas centerfire is 4 days...

    Off all last week. Saw plenty of deer, but nothin shootable. Looks like I was a few days early on my vacation, the bucks were really starting to fight towards the end of the week. Now I'll only get to go thanksgiving morning and Saturday, then once a week from here on out. Oh we'll. at least I put some meat in the freezer

    I am thinking about getting into hunting. My thing is that I can't process the meat, that is a bad thing. I would have to pay every time to have the deer processed. But I would love to have meat in the freezer all year from something I had something to do with bagging it.

    Not a bad thing at all. I don't normally do my own even though my job last year was a skinner and processor. I pay 75 for a deer to be processed. It's really not bad if you think about the amount you get for the money compared to beef at a grocery store

    or if your capable of skinnin and cuttin the meat off, your capable of grinding it up. not hard its just time consuming. we have a grinder from cabelas, not the cheapest one but it wasnt the best one ether, we generally grind around 5 per season. sometimes less/more.

    Yeah I have a kitchen aid grinder and it works well too. I dont think I would be good at all processing a deer, especially since there is a tool specifically designed to cut a perfect circle around the anus:eek:

    dont even have to do that. we never even gut ours. we "suitcase em". keeps from havin the mess. all ya gotta cut off besides the skin is the dick and balls. thats always the first thing to go. :eek: then basic skinnin all the way down.

    Haha nice! 2 seasons ago I was headin home down a back road and there were some people standin on the side of the road lookin at a deer they had hit. It broke all four of his legs and was just Layin in the road with his head up. I jumped out with the rifle and put him out of his misery, the lady scream historically and couldn't believe I would do such a thing. Then some guy pulled up and threw in his truck haha
