Tacoma is stock and staying that way, Pickup is TBA as of now.
Yes, but sheet-metal does, must be really detailed rust paint I guess.

The nicest thing I think I can say about that would be "It is unique." Not my style though.

I'd like to see what happens when he gets in a crash...Convertibles are constructed differently to still have some rigidity without the "connected" frames and pillars. That "windshield" would just completely crumple if he rolled, especially without a rollbar behind the seats.

I don't know why anyone would take the time but I've seen this on one of the Spike shows where they paint old cars to have the rat rod look but it's not actually primer/rust, actually a sealed painted surface. Maybe that's what this is? :notsure:

    Pickups are a full frame.
There's no connection between the cab and bed anyways... there's no strength lost in that respect, other than without some reinforcement there may be door fitment issues a couple of years down the road.

The lack of a roof is a legitimate concern, but it's nothing that isn't a classic problem with convertibles and why modern safety standards require a roll bar in or behind the headrest.

Bigger safety concern is the lack of an anchor point for the shoulder harness. Modern convertibles have the shoulder harness attached to the seatback.

Its a SoCal thing. I kind of like it for where he is. Throw a surf board in the back and you got yourself a beach cruiser.
Why cant we figure out what to do with a truck? Cali has done more for the custom automobile industry than any other state out there.

Where do you think low riders, low riders that hop, hot rod'ing, and Baja racing all got started? Sheesh:notsure:

SoCal native chiming in -- this doesn't surprise me at all. No real flow to the truck, though.

I can picture two types of people who'd drive that around town: 1) Surfer/beach bum 2) OC greaser.

I like it but would never concider doing it because of resale issues... not too many people would want to be seen in that thing.

I like the wheels. What brand are those? MT used to have a style like that called "Indy" I believe. They remind me of Parnelli Jones "Big Oly" from the early 70's. I've always like that style wheel. The Taco...it's different...cool in it's own right.
