Haha, it hasn't been washed in weeks. It would have mud on it if I could ever get a day that my friend and I were both off to go shooting in the woods. We'll probably just have to wait until it snows so we can build snowmen and blast them with buckshot :D

Ah, man. Just did a quick google search to see what you meant and now I get how it would have looked better with different positioning. I'll try again tomorrow if it's sunny enough outside.

Good shots but a little off, crop the one and center the dog dead center in the pic and post it again, same with the second shot, crop and center the truck and you're good

    Kevin, not Chris.

Most photographic rules can be broken from time to time. But centering a subject is rarely the correct choice.

For the truck shot, I'd take two or three steps backward to give the truck more room in the shot. I might also pan a little right so the truck looks like it has a place to go. Finally, I'd probably shoot lower too (but that's just me). The first, of the dog, is harder. I'd crop tight. Move the dog to the left third of the picture.

Finally, watch your exposure. The trees in the truck shot are well exposed and you can see some detail in the body work of the truck. However, the dog shot is a bit under-exposed (UE). You can fix that in post by increasing the exposure a tiny bit.

There's a photography thread that's worth checking out.

Fine Ian, if you want to get all technical yeah the dog is a shade UE, I'd brighten it up a bit, but i'd crop it a little tighter so it's the dog that is the focus, as it stands, there's too much going on, it's too busy, crop it a little tighter and the dog will pop out. IMO, i't s well composed shot, I like it.

I did say "crop tighter" on the dog.

In the picture, as it is, the whole of it is under exposed. Of all the elements, the dog is the most correctly exposed.

When you're metering something that contains light and very dark objects, it's sometimes necessary to use a little +EV correction (maybe 1/3 or 2/3 of a stop) so as to not lose the detail in the blacks.

That's the response I'm getting from many friends but I would like to disagree. I want to see Smith take us to the playoffs again and go further. I think this season should summarize his career with the 9ers...if not, we have to get Kaep going before other teams start chiming in on him..IDK we'll see

With this decision, all I have to say is, "In Harbaugh we trust."

It's too early for me to pick Smith or Kaep. I like Kaep's potential and he was balling last night, but in the last 2 years, Smith is 19-6-1. Pretty damn good in my book and I'm not big on stats. The only stat that matters is wins and losses

Maybe Harbaugh will take a page out of Bruce Bochy's book and play who ever is hotter, kinda doubt that though, it's not something you normally do at the QB position. Smith has had a great run and sees the writing on the wall, Kap is legit, smith is gonna step his game up for sure.
I just keep thinking though....those passes were accurate, tight spiral hard thrown balls, and on the run out of the pocket? My god he throws hard.

I wonder how good Kap would do if he got all the practice snaps during the week. The other thing that got me last night was Kap went through his reads better and faster than smith does, that last TD to Crabtree (?) was awesome, the pass didn't float either, it was perfect and impossible to defend.
I'm down to Aldon and Justin for the Probowl, I think you have to include Bowman in that discussion, he ran coverage on a punt and chased down Hester!

Smith will start. Harbaugh is a very calculated guy. While Kaepernic did an outstanding job last night, Harbaugh isn't likely to make such a drastic change mid-season, especially not while holding the lead in the NFC West. Smith will start, and continue to do so unless he's injured again, or he completely falls off the map. I see Smith going the rest of this year, and quite possibly the next. (depending on this year's outcome) He is under contract for 3 yrs. With Kaepernic waiting, learning the game as a backup, and entering games for certain plays and packages, like he has done so far this year. When K finally does make the jump to starter, we'll see what we saw last night, excellent arm strength, accuracy, pocket poise, great speed and maneuverability- but coupled with a season or two more of knowledge and experience to go with it. Future looks bright. Kaep is a badass no doubt!

And how about Aldon smith?!!! 5.5 sacks?? Madness. And Navarro Bowman killing it with 11 tackles. Niners are firing on all cylinders, just need to keep that momentum through the rest of the season, which has some of our toughest games yet to come, on the road nonetheless.

    Go Niners!

I wouldnt be surprised if Alex isn't "cleared" from all the concussion tests this week, and Kaep gets the start for one more week.

The great Bill Walsh did that with Joe and Steve.

Kaep needs more of a sample size to declare him the clear cut starter, but dude can seriously ball. He injured Moss' finger on a laser of a throw.

Yeah, we'll see how what happens. Dude has moves thats for sure. I watched the post game conference and heard Jim say "If it comes down to it, we will pick a quarterback.." Whatever that means. I'm not going to let one game dictate our QB,especially since the Bears were practicing all week to stop our running game.. I bet they would've never thought Colin could throw.lol
