Finally decided to take the plunge on a 2013 DC LB TRD Sport. Can't decide if I want to get it in Magnetic Gray or Silver Streak Mica... Pros and Cons of each are appreciated. I personally like Magnetic Gray slightly better but am worried about dirt/scratches showing similarly as the Black does. Thanks in advance for your input.

My truck is SSM and the reason I chose it was because it doesn't show scratches like a darker color would. I think Mag. Gray looks good though.

i like both, but the tacoma looks better in ssm with the body lines. I would have gone with the mgm but the paint was only available from 2009 and up. i could only afford a 06-07 when i bought my truck used

I had both and mg is alot easier to keep clean the black I would go with MG your not going to see scratches like you think. It also looks better then SSM when cleaned and waxed has more depth to it. :)

I've had both. If your truck stays dirty, the SSM is going to look better. If you like to keep clean and waxed, the MGM will look better because it will look like a deeper color. The MGM is going to show the scratches a bit more but not nearly as bad as the Black would. Before you make your decision, go look at a used MGM and see how it held up. I had the same concern before buying a Black truck, and that's why I went with the MGM...

BTW, the MGM looks best when the Sun is about to start going down...something about the color just makes it pop...

Here are the two I have had...both cleaned up...

I just got my Silver Streak Mica last week. I liked the Magnetic Gray but got the Silver. 3 of my last 4 vehicles were gray. Time for a change. Maybe it will be cooler in this summer heat. Plus - the dealer only had a MG standard cab in stock...

SSM. I don't like the 2012+ MGM because the color almost exactly matches the grey plastic from the base models. I really have to look to see if it's a sport or a base model in that color. Plus, the valance is more grey than black and i think it looks better with the silver/black combo rather than the grey/grey.

I had a Silver Streak Mica 2011 TRD OR DCSB and just sold it and picked up a 2014 TRD SPORT DCSB in the new Silver Sky Metallic. This new color is a shade darker and I think it looks very nice on the Tacoma. I originally bought the silver on the 2011 as I did a lot of highway driving and it would hide the chips better. The Magnetic gray is very nice and does have a deeper look to it. With the TRD SPORT though, I just thought that with the grill insert being black and the lower bumper being black/gray it all blended together. I love both colors, but thought the silver overall would hold up better to hiding swirl marks and chips.

I say alot of it comes down to how clean you'll keep it. I love the look of MGM but where I live I drive on dirt roads daily so my truck stays clean for about 10 minutes after I wash it. My silver streak truck can be filthy and it still looks good and clean until you get up close.
