So i just bought a 3 inch lift kit for my 05 tacoma and am going to be buying new wheels and tires. I want to go with a 285/75/16 Toyo M/T, but I have heard rumors that some 16 inch wheels won't fit on tacomas. I was wondering if anyone could tell me if 16x8 ultra type 175 rogue wheels would fit.

welcome to Tacoma World Free. assumming you will be running 33's. they should fit, but they will come awful close to your uca's. and some 16" wheels will hit the brake caliper.

yeah thats what im worried about, the brake caliper..
is there anyway to tell by the backspacing or offset if they will hit or not?

You have to get a diagram of the inside contours of the wheel. Backspace and offset really only tell how deep the rim is.

If that rim is nearly 5 inchs of backspace- You might have some issues with it. 4.5" seems to be about the deepest without interference

im not too worried about the tires, ive done my research and know with trimming you can make them work alright. I just dont want to order wheels, get them and realize they wont work

one more question to sort of add here. If the wheel did not clear the caliper could i just add wheel spacers?
