    do you have any of those "cut your own" tree farms to visit? then you know its fresh.

    shake it, make sure no needles fall off

    pull on the tips of hte branches and the needles should be pliable, if they're brittle then its already dry

    recut the base as soon as you get home and put it in water.

    add a little sugar to the water - one tsp once a week. i used to do that and it seemed to help...but then my trees were fresh cut. I think a christmas tree was the first thing I ever hauled in my truck too :D

    ditto. i need mountains and greenery and solitude.

    yeah i know. guess most of it has to do with where you grew up. i grew up around being on the lake, fishing hunting and camping and just being out doors.

    lol yeah the m1 and the Mauser gave a nasty recoil, hurts the shoulder after a while, shot the mauser at night my bro got a picture see a big muzzle flash hahahaaa

    some drunk guy tried to walk into our camp he got two ar's pulled on him and the 12 gauge poor guy ran like hell

    :D thats pretty cool, the mauser isn't that expensive if you look into it, accurate rifle.
