Yeah, I see your point. The used ones are way over inflated in price.... I paid 17.5 for my 03 last year with 70k on it..... not a big price difference for a low milage used one.

Right, and if I'm only different 0-2k$. Might as well buy a new one...especially if I can get a better APR/more for my trade/all the right options.

About to head out and talk to them myself, but I noticed they have an 11' used on their lot as well. 9k miles, for 29,993 asking. It's an OR model, so it's got a few more options....might be worth looking at, especially if they'll talk CPO and in the 27k range.

Other dealership also called me and said they'd do 27,250 on the same brand new sr5 MGM 4x4 dcsb. Wonder why the price discrepancy...

27,250 is a pretty darn good price for a new SR5 4X4 DC if there aren't any hidden fees. That's based upon quite a bit of research over the last six months before I ordered my truck new.

I visited A&G and wasn't impressed by anything other than the amount of vehicles they can get into a small lot. I saw that 29K truck listed, but opted not to go back there. Also noticed the truck they have seem to be a little worn out.

I was dealing with a Kansas dealer who explained the unique situation dealers in OK, TX, ARK, LA and MS have with Gulf States Toyota. GST, due to a deal done in the 60's, has to buy every truck through a middleman. That middleman buys trucks from the factory and then adds on accessory packages. The middleman makes his money from the profit in the packages. That is why you see so many TSS packages out their currently--it's the fancy of the middleman.

I also think there is both an actual and a perceived high resale value on used tacos. I had a dealer tell me they price used tacos high so there isn;t a big difference between new and used--and they can get the customer over to a new one. Non-toyota dealers use that artificial pricing as a basis to price tacos on their lot. It all works because tacos do have a high resale. But the result is a lot of over-priced used tacos.

A good site to use is cargurus.com. They list used vehicles and then grade them as a great, good, fair, bad, or overpriced deal based upon market values.

Still, 27250 new is something I would definitely consider. Better than the price I got, and I got a pretty good price.

I'm certainly considering it. All said and done, it'd be right around 28k out the door. That is on a new, DCSB MGM 4x4 sr5 + tow package. Then it also has window tint and the premium carpet mat set. Also, not sure if it's part of the sr5 package now, since it wasn't available on my last one, but that also includes the backup cam and new 2013 touch screen radio (non entune).

I think it's a relatively fair deal after talking to them. I think I could get a bit more off, seeing as I know they gouge their prices on things like tint ($250?!), and I don't have an option of having it stripped to save the money.

I've heard that there are better deals to be had from the Kansas dealers, and that the middle-man theory is quite true around here. They buy the trucks, and then add on all the silly extra stuff and mark it way up, then sell it to the dealer. Shame really. I might call up to a kansas toyota dealer and ask them what they can do.

But again, the guy I spoke with was pretty nice and I feel like it was a fair offer once we got to the end of it. Naturally, I'll still have to cough up 3% for taxes and licensing after the sale, but that's later I suppose.

I would jump on it. That's pretty much the identical package I have for my pyrite and $400 less than what I got if it is out the door ay 28K. Besides MGM is a great color and the truck will be all yours...
    OKC dealer?

Have a 2013 TSS identical to TSSTaco's magnetic grey. I also live in MWC. I visit my son often who lives across Sooner Rd from base. I have seen both of you guys trucks driving down the street.

Also, getting a quote from a dealership in Kansas to see if they can do me any better before I make any moves.

Looking forward to not having to do this again for a long time.

Well, looks like I've got a fair offer on the table.

I'm going to have them look at my trade, and if all goes well I'll probably pull the trigger on it. I've been waiting, since my wife just got hired on at a new company, but I'm getting antsy X_X

Second dealership who said they'd do 27.250 said that just to get me in the door. That deal was too good to be true I think.

So far it looks like this:

    Truck MSRP: $31,452
    Truck Price: $29,000
    TTL: ~$1000
Final Price should be around $30,000

Looking to get 20,000 for my trade, which leaves me financing just short of 25k which was my target number. If I can get that deal I'm going to do it I think. 29,000 still seems high to me for an sr5+tow package, but if I can get 20k out of my trade then I think it'll even out.

I'm driving an AWD Lexus GS350 with <60k miles on it :X

Should easily be worth 25k private party/retail lot price. 20k doesn't seem far fetched at all.

Still owe just short of 15k, which means I should be ~+5k in it. If I have an OTD price including TTL at 30k, less the balance on my trade, I should be at 25k.

Might have to beat them up in the back office to get sub 2.75% though. I'm seeing some pretty scary numbers on the loan front through my local banks

Got hosed on my trade value, so I walked away for the evening. Without being overly dramatic, I was a bit insulted with the value the put on my trade.

Having been around the car business my whole life has made me jaded I guess. They are a business, after all.

I'll give them another shot, but I've also got my eyes back out. There's a 2010 MGM double cab, MT at bob howard in OKC I might try and drive down and check out tomorrow. Looks like fowler and hudiburg in norman and MWC only have pre-runners used.

    We'll see!

Try Hudiburg--sales guy named Mario Fails. Sales manager named Doug. They have some TSS on lot. Just picked up my Taco last night. No smoke and mirrors. Tell them what you think and why and if it works business-wise for them they'll go with it. They also are giving out Honda lawnmowers and generators if you buy something off the lot.
