Yeah I'm not sure why people like the blacked-out look on the retrofit projectors. I think it makes it look less factory and a bit ricey. If I am going to retrofit, I want to keep it classy with matching shrouds.

hmmm...I'm confused as to where that all plugs into. I've heard, and haven't tested this yet, that you can solve the issue by plugging a stock halogen bulb into the passenger side plug you aren't using anymore. So with that ebay thing I see you pug into the 3-prong bulb connector on one end...but what is the other end for?

I guess that only works with the pnp kits. What connectors do you have with projectors?

The wiring harness plugs into the driver side plug you would plug into the halogen bulb. Then it splits and has a plug for the ballast, projector hi/low solenoid, and the bulb itself. Same on both sides. The only unused plug is the passenger side OEM halogen bulb plug. I'll try to put in a stock bulb to see if that fixes it, but I don't really want a bulb lighting up my engine bay...

I would be interested in installing a tiny blue LED light in the airbag switch blank is, but I'd have no idea how to find the right wire to tie into lol. I'll try putting the halogen bulb in there in a second.

On the plug and play hid lights it just plugs into the hid harness for the male side and the female side goes to the factory harness. I believe anyway. It's just a resistor that is plugged in between the two harnesses.

did you have a dent there they fixed? if so the probably used a stud welder to pull a dent there and it melted that. they use the stud welder now instead of drilling holes like they did in the old school ways of doing it

Not technically 'mine' yet, but I did just confirm a purchase and complete the loan to buy my second toyota truck, but my first Tacoma. (I had a '93 pickup a few years ago and loved it)
