    It doesn't sound like you need a new cat, they either work or they don't, your issue is with the ecm not resetting itself correct?

    It could be the CAT, these dumbass on boards (most all newer vehicles)its not enough to reset themselves, they won't clear until ALL emissions equip. are functioning at running temp & even then the ECM has to recognize all components.

    Mine passed all emissions almost immediately, but had to drive it for 2 days (couple long rides) before the fucking thing would get with the program, really frustrating

    Its not completing the loop with the computer to cat.

    The people who I have talked to said if the cat is going bad it wont show a CEL but wont fall within the limits of completing the cycle needed to clear the pending issue.

    I am going to the desert today and will follow the driving pattern required to get this shit working cause all the other methods have not worked.

    I have 173k on the truck and last time I smogged it was at 120k and it barely passed smog due to the cat.

    So I knew this was a possibility.
