Not exactly what you asked for... but, i have a 10" sub behind the rear seats in my 2005 doublecab. It's definitely hidden. The box is shaped for a perfect fit between the seats. and it sounds great.

    Thanks for this thread.
So am I understanding this right that there is no one that builds 01 Taco Sub boxes that fit behind the backseat? It all has to be custom built?
Looks like I might have a fun little project on my hands soon :D

Are those 8" or 10" shallow subs? Can you post a link to them?

And be sure to take plenty of pics to post ;)

What im wondering is, Does the new tacoma dblcab's have more room behind the rear seats then the 01-04's? Bc I know I would have to cut some backing and stuff in order to fit a pre-made shallow box.

i ripped the plastic out and never thought about it twice. i'm thinking about cutting through the metal bar to make the back of the box flush... the truck is in the shop for a little body work and next week i'll resume. pics to follow then.

Hey 05Pre, can you post a pic of your sub. I would like to see it. Did you have to take off the plastic on the back of the seats or any modifications at all?

Hey, sorry i didn't reply quickly... I wasn't paying attention to my e-mails:rolleyes: Anyway, yeah. I had to take out the plastic in order for the sub and the amp to fit.
Here's a pic the sub/box i got: (I'll try to get an actual pic sometime tomorrow)

Is there some kind of adaptor or something that I can put on my back seat to move it forward alittle to give more room behind the seat? I'm sure someones done this before. Just wondering if it's hard to do.
