My wife has a Macbook and the screen keeps falling backwards. Its causing some green spots on the screen as well. I think all it needs is some screws to be tightened up, anyone know if this is an easy task or take it somewhere? If I can avoid droping $80 somewhere I would be happy.

You can always try ifixit.com and see if there's a write-up with a fix

    Here is my situation:

More of my remote users are getting Macs and what I have done is built a Windows 2008 R2 server running Terminal Services to which they can connect. They use a Quest software authentification token through a Cisco ASA firewall to authenticate on the network then the user turns on MAC RDP for Windows version 2.1.2 to connect to the terminal server.

The users are able to connect to the terminal session but their screens are very small of their remote desktops. Is there a way on the Macs to increase the size of the viewable RDP screen. I am stumped as well as my frustrated users.

    Any suggestions ?

My last iPad was broken so I backed it up and sent it in for warranty repair. Well they determined they couldn't fix it and sent me a check. Is there a way to take everything that was saved and put it on my new iPad??

    Thanks.

@bucknakedbooda: ask same question in the IT bs thread, you'll get better results.

@tmill: I think you can do a restore using iTunes

I've got no issues when using a Windows laptop to connect to a remote session. Only issue is with MAC users...

What repair company did you use ? I just used DIGIEXPRESS.US to replace a screen and a digitizer on my wife's old iPad2. Even though it cost me around $130, they did a fantastic job and turned it around in less than a week.....

Have you tried changing the resolution in windows on their machine once they are logged in? I believe that is stored per user. There is also a setting in the mac RDC app for resolution.

Restore the new one from backup and select the backup you took before sending it in.

Yes but this thread typically serves simpler situations... like what you could take up to the people at the Apple Store. Industry level stuff gets better attention from the other thread I mentioned.

NO! Not seriously, thats incorrect, you do need to upgrade to snow leopard (24.99 on apples website) but from 10.6 you can skip 10.7 (lion) and jump directly to 10.8 (mountain lion).

By the way, it kills me a little bit every time when someone doesnt call OS X, "OS 10". its not "oh-ess-ex" its "oh-ess ten"

So I'm new to using the Iphone, I keep finding myself wanting to use the smilies when on my phone and wanting to embed links at times to threads, is this not possible on smartphones or am I just an idiot?

Also anyone have a charge/audio cable like this? http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00499DZP0/ref=gno_cart_title_1

One cable that charges and has the 3.5 audio built in so I would only have to deal with one cable. I like the idea of this one but can't seem to find a more reputable version. This one has bad reviews, mostly on the quality. Thanks.

I had one that was hardwired into the radio harness for power and used the RCA output for sound. An Isimple cable. It worked great.

Does anyone know if there is a fix for the graphics issue in mountain lion where the images don't tile correctly and video glitches and stuff? It's starting to piss me off. I want to go back to lion.

Here's a prime example of this issue.

i have one kinda like it. mine does not have the 3.5 audio on it. it’s just a usb end and the 30 pin on one end. few years ago i had to get a new charge cable for my ipod. and i got a thing at wall mart. it had a usb plug, a wall adapter and a 12v adapter. i use the 12v adapter and just take the use the came with the iphone and do that. i did not buy a car charger when i got my iphone.

mac are really good. i have one from 2010 with snow leopard. i have not updated it to anything newer yet.

i did not want to spend to much, so i just got the 13” Macbook pro. i had got mine on tax free weekend so that also helped my price.

also with the metal uni body that the pro has. it is a really tough computer. i have dropped it off of my bed. and i think when i had a party someone dropped it on the edge of the bed and it has a small dent in the side. works just like it did the day i got it. my friend has the same 13” macbook pro and it has fell of of his pool table a few times.
