There are other long springs, but given the circumstances I'd say that's more than likely the ejector spring.

I don't care, just trying to help you out, it's easier to diagnose the problem when everyones on the same page. So is the ejector present or not?

I think you are right. Wasn't doubting you... not a part you can get to without serious dissassembly. I was thinking of what you could get to without a punch

I was the one using the wrong term. I was hatin' on myself. I feel your pain. But, it is a manufacturers issue at this point and they could easily just send you a new bolt.

Just trying to help keep everything straight. Easy to get all the parts confused when you're new to this stuff so posted some pics. Not trying to be a douche haha. Was all for OPs benefits.

Well I'll try to get a hold of dpms to resolve this since I'm guessing it isn't a simple fix

Bummer... so at this point you could contact DPMS and they may have you return the bolt or the whole gun or they may just send you something... I have no idea how DPMS's service works. Or del-ton and others sell the parts for like 10$. You could try that and see, but you may be right, it may be something more. Improper machining maybe. I can only think the ejector roll pin and ejector launching themselves could be improper clearances/machining or improper installation. Of course collateral damage is something I'd be worried about as well, where did those pieces go and what did they run into or what ran into them before they flew out of the gun, or are they hiding somewhere still? Of course if you had your new ejector assy and everything worked fine then you're probably alright. Just things to consider.

    :(

If nothing else go to BCM and get a sweet ass bolt for 70$.

    That's your problem then.
The roll pin worked it's way out, and the spring launched the ejector.

So I can't fix this myself? I mean I know it's under warranty and all just curious

    Depending on the cause.

If the bolt was drilled oversize, then a replacement rollpin will work it's way out again.
You can try... it's just a simple matter of inserting the spring, the ejector plunger, holding the plunger flush with the bolt face (fair amount of pressure), and pressing the roll pin back in to retain the ejector.

If you had a small enough ball gauge and a mic you could figure that out easy enough I guess.

That's what I was wondering, why did it come out? Tolerances or installation error?

Possible to stake the roll pin?

Most likely not with out spending some money. Like what the guy above said you could go get a BCM bolt and it would be a lot better quality than DPMS. You've now seen first ha d the quality of DPMS so my suggestion would be to upgrade rather than replace with more sub par parts.

Besides even if you do drop the extra $70 you still have a complete rifle for under $700..

You could try... But you say you are new to the AR world right? IMO, just send it in for warranty work. If there's any discrepancies with the rifle, it's the manufacture's fault and not yours.

    Agreed.

While I'm no BCM fanboi, their bolt assemblies are top-notch. I also really like Daniel Defense.

Get DPMS to warranty this one, then keep it in the "Spare parts for SHTF" box and install a quality BCG.

Can I buy just the BCM Bolt assembly instead of the whole carrier? And put it in my dpms carrier?
