LR vs. Camburg UCA

I have a 2013 DC OR and looking at the OME full lift.

I'm not going to do a lot of offroading but do go in the mud more than anything.

Which UCAs should I get and why?

 

Are you looking at the Camburg ball joint UCAs? I have the LR's. Seem to be doing their job. No complaints. Everyone who has the LR's loves them

No complaints with the LR's here either. Seem to do their job. I'd just get those and save some cash. Sure they don't look cool like a lot of the others but for my use I didn't see a need to spend more just for aesthetics.

 

I gotta admit, I went with the Camburgs only cause they look badass! haha... but they also did a fine job at getting my alignment where I needed it. I have them paired with Moog ball joints and they are indestrucible!

The LR's are great and offer more adjustment, but they look to "stock" for my taste.

Why are total chaos and icon out of the running?

 

I sure do like how the Camburgs look. Had I not got my LR's at the same time I was buying my lift I might have ponied up the money for those or other badass looking ones haha.

 

Because camburg and lr are the only companies that make aftermarket ball joint ucas

 

Ahh, missed that part thanks. If he went with icon billet UCA's he'd be able to stuff 35's on that Ome lift

 

Why can you only stuff 35's with the billet's but no other ones?

The billet UCA's are the only one with enough adjustablity to get the tire to move forward. I can't remember off the top of my head what they have that none of the other UCA's have but the 4x4 shop up here (very reputable) has put out more than a few FJ's and tacomas running a 3" lift as well as 35's. I'll try and get some more info for you guys. He wasn't too keen on divulging all his secrets but he did say that it can be done without tearing thre crap out of the wheel well. He's going to do it to my rig once I sell my TC UCA's. So at some point I'll have pics up.

Ill vote for LR as well. Tons of adjustability and great on price

 

Camburg balljoint installation isn't as user-friendly. Misalign slightly with the press and you can damage the cup.

 

I'm happy with my OME / LR UCA combo

Sorry, to add to what I was saying earlier, the icon billet arms have adjustable rod ends which means you can get more clearance out of them than anything else, because no one else (that I know of) has that feature. That's the route I'm taking and we'll see how it goes. Now just to find some billet UCA's for cheap!
