    Been reading around the forums and see that many people asking for a Diesel Tacoma? Why diesel? Bio fuel Conversion kit?

    Diesel is better for towing/hauling and gets higher fuel economy. The better question is why gas.

    2.7L 3RZ,K&N filter, 4" deck plate mod,flowmaster 40 series,3" suspension lift, hybrid 52"chevy/toyota rear springs.
    I had a diesel toyota before and loved the near double mpg and more pulling power. I think most want them for the MPG bump but sadly the newer diesels just dont get that much better $ per mile when you think of the price of diesel fuel + the extra cost they tack on for the diesel option on the trucks.

    Good example though, my moms 06 tacoma DCSB 4.0v6 auto trd with 265/70/16's gets around 18mpg my dads 06 DCLB 2500 ram with 35x12.50x17 tires and 6spd manual gets 21mpg.

Plasti-dipped upper fenders and emblems. satin black spray paint here and there inside and out. 5100's set to 1.75" up front . C channel front bumper. Maxxis bighorn 255/85/16
    The d4d supposedly gets 36 get I saw a swap.from ebay some one posted on here that said mixed drivin it gets 28 so that's roughly 50% better mpg and deseil is bout 15% more than gas makin a net o.f 35% savings. Plus it has about the same torque as the v6 at 1800 rpms instead of 4000 making iy more usuable in ever day situations. Deseils typically last longer than gas motors so it stands to reason if Toyota can make a gas motor go +400k and a cummins will go +300k toyota deseil should las... Carry the 2...5136249 miles before u get into any real problems give or take a million.

    So essentially because of the way a diesel engine operates and the fuel it uses a diesel can create much more power/torque while maintaining advantageous fuel economy. Also because of how they're built, they generally last much longer than gas engines. The downside is they're a higher upfront cost, fuel costs about the avg of 91 octane gas, and maintenance costs are generally higher.


    Oh and diesel engines are generally built ready to tune from the go. That is to say, it's pretty easy to turn em up a bit with simple mods.
