Yes I would have to agree. If door dings are my only issues- life is good. I am truly sorry for your loss. I have a son and I could not imagine. God bless.

Revel in your heart that you were fortunate to be blessed with what time she spent enriching your life, as well as what you were able to share with her and teach her.

I know a cyber hug is nothing compared to the hug of your child but it's the best I can do right now. ((hugs)) [IMG]

    Cherish your family and friends.
I have watched my father in law die for the last year he is on his death bed right now.

With most of my family gone everything becomes alot clearer as you age.

I personally would like to see an apology to the op from the immature posters none of you would dare disrespect his wife in person you disgusting animals.

Well, assuming the dings were actually caused by her (not just blamed on her), and assuming she put those dings there out of sheer neglect (not the result of fighting with groceries, kids, or whaterver), and assuming you would have done better in similar circumstances (unfamiliar rental vehicle in tight garage), who cares?

I certainly wouldn't have a "meltdown" with my wife over something so trivial. She's far too important and valuable to me for that. I would have just shown her the dings "someone" put there and urged her, in a non-accusing manner, to be extra careful not to add more - immediately moving on to another subject to further minimize the situation.

Yes, the truck is a material object and in the eternal scheme of things it really isn't that important. There are more important things in life like family, friends, marriage, and as pointed out dear life itself has a much higher value.

That being said, I have the same issue with my wife. It doesn't take more than a few brain cells to be conscious of your surroundings and take care of stuff. If anything taking care of your material things will save money and make life a little happier for everyone. Your dings have reduced the value of your truck in a small way if you were to trade it in.

My wife can bang around my vehicles but if I complain she will say that I'm selfish and think material objects are more important than people. If I was to accidentally spill grape juice in the middle of the living room carpet then it's because I broke her rules and shouldn't be in the living room with food. She would demand spending a few thousand bucks on new carpet. I would not be allowed to spend anything on my truck if she cosmetically damaged it. A stained carpet still functionally works just fine.

Love that every guy that has been married say "don't sweat the small stuff". Unfortunately I've been divorced once and wonder what would have happened if I had done that more. It's a material item, don't sweat it. You know her, park further away or buy a divider mat that hangs from the ceiling between the vehicles.

Wifes are not children. No need to go show them and then talk to them like a little kid.

All that needed to be said to the wife was" im kinda bummed, someone door dinged my new truck already". This keeps it clean

I would like to think so but everyone has their own perspective relative to their current situation in life. This is something we all must accept if we are going to be a part of an internet forum and not be too sensitive about things.

Last year I went to Mexico for the Baja 500 and left my 6 month old truck home so nothing would happen to it. My wife tried to back it in to the the garage, hit a hanging wall cabinet, heard a smashing noise so she pulled out and backed in to it 2 more times. Dented the tailgate from one side to the other. $hit happens

For just a moment in your life, look at it from her perspective. To many women, a unkempt, stained, carpet says she is a bad housekeeper, mother, and wife. The dings in your truck say nothing about you personally.

Missing My Last Tacoma --- Had 11 Toyota trucks in the past and many other Toyota cars too.
    .
Last year (News Years Eve - about noon, to be exact) my wife opened the back door on her new Honda (from inside) ... just as I was slowing moving a big 24' moving truck around a corner at our storage unit.

B E E Z Z I I N N G G ... P O P ... her door caught on the moving truck cube on the side rub rail and took her back door off at the hinges  (like in the movies) ... ...

We duct taped the door back on the Honda and she drove to the Honda dealer before they closed on New Years eve and got a rental car to drive us home ...

My wife bangs her car around (a lot) ... and I have learned to live with this .... but, I keep my Tacoma away from her & her Honda ... especially in our driveway ...
