Still running around for lugs. The ones mile offered do not work. The ones the dealer gave me to try don't. The washer doesn't sit flush in the opening for it. Does anyone have an idea what wheels these exactly came off of.

I have 24 lugs from a 05-newer TRD off road if you think those will work.

Deteriorating day by day. It vibrates quite a bit in low RPMs in 2nd, 3rd, and 4th gear. I'm debating about trying the manual swap

    OK,

    Officially confused....why won't they fit ???

The lug nuts you had in that pix were Toyota lugs...should "fit" no problem...are the washers original ??

The washers do not seat on the wheel like they should. I'm about to find a Toyota and pull a lug nut off of the same wheel and see if it works lol.

    05+ lugs don't work tacoma
    00-11 4 runner ones don't
    ImageUploadedByTapatalk1353710280.285977.jpg
See how the washer doesn't sit flush on the wheel like it should? Mike said I need a acorn kind but longer ughhh help

Those "new to you" wheels are 3rd gen 4-Runner and I still do not see why they are not working....Do they fit in that recess tightly or not at all ??

When you torque those tight does it sit flush to your drum or rotor plate surface ???

I have those EXACT nuts and they were factory for my '02 aluminum wheels and now hold my '09 wheels in place.....the '09 wheels have those same recess's you have on those 4-Runner wheels...

ROAD TRIP....You really can not do that unless they torque down correctly....

Is there any slag or build -up in those recess's ??? Can you clean it up with a wire brush ???
As Mike stated, no stripped studs correct ???

If they DO NOT work out...PM me...sucks you have finally arrived at aluminum wheels and they don't work...I will even trade my '02 SR5 wheels for those 4-Runner wheels ( you will have to pay someone to R&R tires..my tires are N/C,3-5/32 )

Link me for the kind I need.

    Here are pics
This is an OEM for an 03 tacoma alloy that washer will NOT sit flush where it is cut out for too
    ImageUploadedByTapatalk1353713879.155314.jpg
Here is the lug nut OEM off of my OEM STEEL wheel. It's bevel seats fine but the 6 point bolt head part goes into the hole too deep (do I need and extended acorn style)
    ImageUploadedByTapatalk1353714062.645653.jpg
Next is an OEM of a 5 spoke TRD wheel that is found on a tundra. The same lugs on a Tacoma yet still the same problem with the washer but further distance
    ImageUploadedByTapatalk1353714171.507356.jpg
Now this kind is a little better but the base would need to be longer
    ImageUploadedByTapatalk1353714402.033957.jpg
    I'm going NUTS LEGITIMATELY

Everything sits flush rotor to wheel and drum to wheel. Nothing is stripped

I love my new truck but miss my Tacoma

Guys, it could take either kind of lug. I look up wheels all the time and you need to watch out not to mix them up. A quick internet search, look up 2000 4runner wheels with pics on this site. The bottom of the page will show the same wheels with 2 different lug types http://www.car-part.com/

By the looks of it these wheels were not the "deal" they played up too..

Good luck figuring this out...I have NEVER seen TOYOTA factory nuts NOT work...I have seen 15" wheels with built up slag or junk need to be cleaned for OEM nuts to work BUT Rob has proven someone imported something into the US that set up this mess...

My offer still stands if you can't find something that will hold those wheels...trip up to NH and we can swap wheels.....they are painted black, not gunmetal BUT I know the lug nuts work....both sets...yours and mine....

    Mine are 15"
I contacted the guy i bought them off of and he had them on 96 Tacoma, 92 pickup, and his 88 extra cab, he would have installed them on his 4 Runner but the 15" wheel did not clear the rotors. So I'm guess these wheels are off a 1996 Tacoma

if they are 15" wheels they i would trade and R&R both sets of tires as mine are brand spanking new
