or just dont get caught without one on lol...there is a guy in town who rides with his helmet on his knee...hes wearing a helmet just not on his head

 

I actually did get about 3 miles without a lid once.
Cop pulled me over, walks up and asked if I had forgotten something.

I quickly patted my pockets and checked my watch and said "I don't think so"
He patted my head and said "I think so"

No ticket.

 

Oh I would have loved to see that. It must have been cute when he did that.

 

It was funny.

The local cops are pretty cool to the residents once they "know" you.
Every time I get a "new" vehicle that's not a "late model", I'll get popped on a profile stop once.
"The reason I pulled you over is that crack in the windshield, you don't need a ticket for that do you?"
License plate light (may or may not actually be out), etc....
Hasn't happened with the Taco yet, but it's a 2nd Gen.

I think that I would still wear a helmet. I never rode without one no matter where I rode.

 

We planned rides to avoid states like Nebraska.
Nevada was often unavoidable, but at the AZ or UT border, first offramp, lids went into the trunk.

 

U hear you. I respect guys that can ride without helmets but I would never do it.
