    It may be that my PIAA headlights are part of the problem I have right now. They are over 4 years old. Maybe its just that they aren't as good as they used to be. I wonder if they can get dimmer without actually breaking/burning out a filament?

    Getting together with Fam for a great meal and great conversation is one of the best things in life IMO. It ranks up there with sitting around the campfire with friends. :cheers:

    It is very unfortunate that commercialism is coming to dominate the time of thanks giving.

    Yeah, mostly. Truth is, I want them to be as good as the low beam + fogs on the corolla and they aren't. :eek:

    Will be too bright to run all the time I think for that purpose.

    Could just be old bulbs as you stated earlier. Or you could buy some retro fit lights :cool:

    I think PIAA says 2 years. And yeah, these has definitely lasted longer than any others I've ever had. And thuth be told, they were awesome. Now, not so much.

    I haven't noticed so much with the brights. But can't really use them too much around here. Always some yahoo coming from the other direction.

    I did put a lot of effort into aiming them. I don't think its they are too high or too low.

    Because of the height of the headlights on the truck is so different from the height of the lights on the corolla, it is difficult to compare them in that way.

    When parking them side by side in the driveway, the most noticeable difference is the color temperature of the light. The PIAAs definitely put out a whiter light.

    I have a huge amount of respect for the effort, regardless of the outcome.

    I would never fit and HID into my existing housings. They weren't designed for it. The light scatter is painful to look at. I hate that when I have to look at it in other vehicles and would not do that to others.

    Is anyone making "projectors" for the '01-'04s ?

    Retros are different. It's fitting a projector into our housing. There was a couple guys making them yes.

    Just slapping in HIDs is dumb I think as well.

    I am not as sure about that as I used to be. The ones in there now said 4,000 kelvin on the packaging. And I liked them much, much better that the stock ones when they were new.

    Right now, today, I'm liking the color of the corolla's lights better. I'm wondering it the color temp of the old PIAAs has increased since they were new? Doesn't seem likely tho.

    btw: 5 mm socket on a 1/4 drive ratchet will fix the aiming issue on your truck. Remind me the next time we get together.

    Probably a lot easier to buy a new set of PIAAs huh?

    I might look into another set. I'm wondering if they make them at 3800 kelvin. Have to check that out.

    Did you end up purchasing one of those 20" lightbars?

    Sometimes, the whiter light is harder to see. I notice it most on wet, rainy pavement.

    What are 3lrs? Are those the ones I got? 6" long with 4 leds?

    The 3lrs are 3" pods with 4 LEDs

    6lz are what I have on the rear of my bed rack and in the mirrors which are 6" long with 6 LEDs. I already have 4 of them.

    I going to use the 3lrs for camp lights on poles that extend up

    modded the F*ck out
    Blue light works best in the snow. Amber works well too as long as it's kept low. The whiter the lights the more it will reflect and not "stick" to the road
