Own a 2007 PreRunner. Went though the tutorial to disable the DRL`s. Cut the red/green wire - works. Had the bright idea of a switch to turn them on if I wanted 2. Bought a lighted 3 terminal switch so when the drls are off so is the light on the the switch. After wiring correctly (I thought) it didn`t. Got the the constant 12 volt from the white /blue wire, connected the load or drl wires and ran a ground as the instuctions indicated. Worked but backwards. drls still on durring day and off when driving at night Here`s the bad part - While switching wires to see if I could fix it I got a spark and now the truck won`t start, automatic gear shift won`t go out out park, no radio, blower, windows, but I have all lights but turn signals, door locks. Checked fuses, those that operated the working circuits were ok, those that didn`t, didn`t. Any ideas? I`m in a real bind here

    Thanks,
    Tim

How did you check the fuses? Use a test light if possible. Hook it to a known good ground an check for power at both sides of the fuse.

Did you check the underwood fuse panel as well as the inside fuse panel?

You have two fuse blocks, one under the dash and one under the hood.
Some of those systems are protected by fuses at both locations. The shifter not coming out of P indicates that the brake light circuit is dead.

Did the battery thing, no go. Possiblbe fusable link but some functions work, some don`t The security system light flashes and I manualy took apart the shift tower and pushed in the plunger to get it into nuetral. Guess I`m off to the dealer, trucks on it`s way. Gotta be a fuse I`m missing.

As said above ,check the IGN1 fuse. Its located under the dash. This is the fuse that is usually blown when you cant get it to come out of park.....along with the other things you mentioned.

That`s not a ign. 1 fuse on the panel is it. You`re saying it`s up under the dash where you can`t see it?

It is a factory set up, optional. Toyota part # It`s not the headlights that are on but but the turn sig. yellow lights. They`re on all the time. There is a tutorial on this site to istall this harness and disconnect if you want to. Mine came installed new.

Definately a dealer option, toyota part # on harness tag. Eventually it yellows the turn signal lense and will start to bubble the inside of the lense That`s why I`m turning mine off. Search DRL install tutorial and then search diconnect, same guy. Cut the red/green wire to disconnect. It works, just don`t be a dummy me and put a switch in.
