Deer hunting BS thread

Not lookin good. Followed him out a trail that branches off 4 ways. 2 cross the road and 2 go back to the holler below where I was. Followed em all and no more traces of blood anywhere.

 

He'll net 125, I had 150 in my head (B&C). Dang nice deer either way, wasn't trying to be a dick.

 

I didn't think you were being a dick I just put the minimums out there. I don't care either way it's not my deer but the guy who shot him thinks it will be close to 160.

 

Mark last blood and leave. Don't push him. Go back tomorrow with a handfull of guys and grid search. Is he going uphill or down?

 

Out the top of a flat ridge. There's no sign of him after the last drop we found. He either had to cross the road or go back basically to where I was sitting. We checked both. No blood anywhere. No deer layin anywhere. I gotta work tomorrow but I'll be back up there Tuesday.

 

My bad. Tomorrow is Sunday. Scratch that. Been a long mornin.

 

Can you not Sunday hunt down there? We just got it last year up here I figured surely ga had it if we did

 

Yea. I just forgot it was Sunday. But I've got thanksgiving stuff at lunch tomorrow at the grandmas. Might go see f I can find anything after I get done there

 

I NEED to start hunting the eastern side of Oregon and Washington.

Id focus on idaho or something, on the east side we get alot of the damn blacktail genetics in our deer. As seen in that droptine buck.

But you can still find some pretty sweet bucks

 

Whitetail suck around me. What I'm after is the axis. We finally had a cold front move thru last night. Had several axis under feeder and out and around. I let em get comfy,they'll be back.

 

got get flash lights and hunt all night for it! i would if i did not have anything the next morning.

 

we can in TN. and have been for as long as i know of. i been deer hunting about 5 years and have sunday hunted many times.

 

Church in the morning then thanksgiving at the Grandmas at 2. I'm goin back after that, though.

 

Went back this afternoon. Walked a 2 or so mile radius around the area, and didn't find anything. The good news is, there weren't any crows/vultures circling, either. Hoping he's gonna make it and give me another shot in a week or so.

nice sheds!

i want to go hunt for sheds when they start loosing them. may to o one of the WMA that also has elk and see if i can find some elk sheds. anyone know a good time to start going?

 

I wish...what I would give for that...wish I had that many wall hangers too! haha

I would start looking mid to late spring? Honestly, you can find them year round. I find several this summer and some during the winter. Some I could tell dropped last spring and some had been on the ground for several years.
