TRD radio, weak treble

I have a 2008 TRD with the stock radio which may be the same as in most other Tacomas. My problem is at 73 I'm a bit weak in the high frequencies and need more treble than this radio offers. Yes, I've adjusted the audio to turn the bass down and the treble all the way up and adjusted fade and balance, but still don't get great sound. My 2007 base single cab had a better radio. Any way I can spruce up this rig?

By spruce up, you mean the stock radio? Nothing you can really do to that. Your best bet is after market, and there are a ton of options that will fit. That's the only way you will get better sound, and some new speakers will always help too. Search around on here, a lot of people have posted what they have done with after market radios and speakers.

 

Your stock crap radio has a built-in limiter to prevent you playing it loud-to protect the crappy speakers that come with it. It is not adjustable and you can't take it out.
Find a nice Double-Din radio to replace it with, and you will be much happier.

 

Like others have said your best bet would be to buy an aftermarket radio. My 09 had a crappy radio too. I just put in a Clarion CX501 i got new for $180 what a difference.
