[Do you think that they care? This country is that of entitlement case and point welfare foodstamps unemployment etc so the goverment say's to those that are living off the goverment. "Hey give me your guns or no entilements." Most will give in the few that don't will be criminalized by are gov't controlled media. So what will you be the majority of the patriot few.[/QUOTE]

First of all Thank you for putting you ass on the line for us in Iraq! And I'm glad you made it back alive!

Second I to believe this country has many people that believe they are entitled to more than they actually are.

Having said this though I fail to see how citing some of our social programs to designed to help people who are done on their luck fits this argument. Sure, these programs get abused but that is a completely different conversation. One that belongs alongside the conversations about how other programs get abused, like defense spending (not just cutting it but who gets the money...like armor for grunts in the field) and why our elected officials are "entitled" to endless benefits we don't want to give to our lowest financial classes, namely paid medical insurance and retirement into perpetuity. There is absolutely no difference on a human level between a Senator and a bum, they both put their pants on the same way...and when they die the same thing happens (whatever that is)....

We would save countless MORE dollars cutting or altering the benefits for the trolls in congress or reallocating the more than 5 BILLION/year we give to Israel or Pakistan than cutting the $200/week we are giving that single mom who won't put down the crack pipe.

    Just sayin.

I probably opened myself up for an ass chewing but whatever....

I agree with you it was off topic I gave 8 years of honorable service 3 combat tours Fallujah in 04' Ramadi 06' TQ 09' and It sickens me that the issue of gun control is even being brought up in today's world, a lot of bad things happen in the US and it's all ways a gun but what the news don't show is the stories of home breakin's where the robber had a knife and the home owner shot them you don't hear about that. I don't think it's ok to kill someone but if your life or somebody elses do what ya got to do and thats coming from a former sniper, I also find it upseting when I hear some kid wanting to join the military and I ask him why the reply to kill people thats just ignorant I personally have take life and there ain't no cool thing about it you just have to do it so others can live. I love my country very much and I would give my life for her in a heart beat and I would still be in if it weren't for that IED that hit my MRAP in 09' and phucked me up it just really upsets me that todays society doesn't support are fundamental rights that so many have died to protect. Just think what would the US be if we lost ww2. I had to watch many of my buddy's die in combat and than come home and be called a baby killer and all sorts of shit than have people wanting gun control it makes me feel that all I did over there and went through was in vain I know it wasn't but damn. Sorry to rant like this but I had to get it out thanks for reading GOD BLESS THE CONSTITUTION

amen, and thankyou for your service in the marines! :oldglory:

our responsibility here at home is to promote these rights, and counter the "insider threats"; a robust civilian gun ownership is the keystone to bill-of-rights, and a free society...

the question "will you give up yer guns" should be a rhetorical one for most of us... however, it's less about "us", and more about preserving this for future generations... ;)

The key is we have to make guns more positively prolific in our culture. Unfortunately for a lot of people who reside in the urban centers of the country this is hard to come by. Having grown up in the city I was blessed to have an ROTC that had an indoor range, but before that my summer camp taught marksmanship as well. If us as gun owners started more city wide marksmanship programs our message would be better accepted. Especially if we teach them the true purpose of the second amendment while teaching them how to shoot. We need to push the NRA to support more minority dominated schools instead of the usual boyscout type student bodies that get NRA funding. Those kids have parents that shoot, the others kids have parents that have been shot, its more important that we reach out to those kids. Places like Switzerland have guns as a cornerstone of their culture and thus not near the trouble with guns we have. Maybe even a forced two year enlistment for kids who aren't heading for college. Give them marksmanship training there.

I just know a lot of gun rights supporters give two fucks about kids in the inner city and yet we wonder why half the country is against us.

Call me a tin foil hat wearing conspiracy theorist if you want, but I am more worried about the govt having guns then the next guy on the street. Especially when the dept of homeland security ordered 1.4billion rounds of ammo this year. Correct me if I am wrong and I know this is not verbatim but in the 2 nd amendment does it not say something to the affect of... A well regulated militia is essential to preserving liberty from an oppressive, tyrannical govt? To me the very idea of DHS is in direct violation of Posse Comitatus and give credibility to the whole "Police State" or "big Brother" stuff you hear about. As our rights continue to evaporate at an alarming rate there will come a day when the people stand up and say " Fuck this". Without guns if that day ever happen you can look to nazi germany or communist Russia to see what the outcome would be. After every gun confiscation in history has always come oppressive govt, tyranny, and in most cases genocide.

The rounds ordered are hollow point rounds in various calipers. These rounds are significantly more expensive. Hollow points are designed for a reason. Maximum destruction. If they are simply training than at best they are wasting our taxpayer money. Also, this is by far and away the largest amount ever purchased in one year.

Most of you hollering "2nd amendment" have never even read it please educate yourselves or take your precious shotgun to your mouth and end your ignorance. The arguement that there would be less violence if everyone own a gun is the same as saying there would be less war if every country had wmd's, plain and simple illogical.

It probably has, yet some points are worth mentioning again especially when this thread has 34 pages. Also, some points are worth ignoring....such as rs5
