The wife was going to be alone in Portland for Thanksgiving so I went to see her. We went to a Seaside Beach and Cannon Beach on Thursday and then went to the Portland Zoo on Saturday. It was pretty cool, but I don't like being around that many cars/people all at once. haha

Really? Not that I am a photographer or critic or anything, but I think the lower half looks fine. His snout just kind of blurs into the left side of his face too much I think.

I like the 3rd pic too. It just doesn't seem to focus as much on the deer since he is so far back in the pic. Although it is probably possible to fix that by cropping the edges and resizing the pic.

No we walked it. I didn't have the Taco with me. The boombox (my Hyundai) gets twice the mpg that the Taco does.

I see. The only time I had problems seeing was when there was a Semi in the way so the Taco wouldn't have helped...

And yes the Taco is much more comfortable than the car, plus the Taco has cruise control... The Taco has spoiled me... haha

So I doubt it will happen anytime soon, but here is the roof rack I have found for an RTT that I like:D

Then if I could fit it, it would be cool to work something out like this on the front of the rack:

Only maybe not so many lights haha:

Cruise control keeps me from going too slow or too fast. haha. I seem to be terrible about maintaining speed anymore. I think it is cuz I switch back and forth between the car and Taco so much and they have very different throttle control and every thing else. haha Taco takes barely any throttle at all to maintain speed and the car requires a shit ton and is hard to get up to speed.

Are you sure that isn't the torque converter locking up?
Little cars don't like high speeds. My car is actually pretty responsive at 65 mph, but is utterly gutless at 75 mph. If Ali's car is about the same, then the torque converter is unlocking to produce a torque multiplier again to accelerate, but I don't think it should be all that jerky, unless the car is flat out downshifting, but this doesn't sound like the case.

Good luck arguing that out with a cop when he pulls you over for 10 over... haha

Whether I am controlling the throttle or not doesn't seem to affect how awake I am. It is much more related to the amount of caffeine in me and how long I have been driving for now. haha

Found some 37x12.50R16's swampers within about an hour of me. No pics, but claims about 50% tread left for $500 obo. Doesn't say anymore about the tires though, well except that they come with Ford rims that I won't want...

Not like you shift much on the freeway anyway. My car only leaves fifth gear if I am going up a pretty steep hill.

Speaking of steep hills! So my wife is staying at her Aunt's place in Beaverton (little suburb of Portland) and I am in the middle of a residential area in Beaverton (pretty sure it is bigger than Poky itself) and I was coming down this pretty steep hill to a four way stop. I turn right there and holy shit! I only thought the hill I just came down was steep. This hill had a sign that was marked 14% grade! and it went on for at least a 1/3 of a mile! I'm pretty sure that is the steepest paved road I have ever seen in my life! and it is in the middle of a residential area in a city!! My poor car hated it. haha and if that were to ever get icy you are fucked!! I was going down it in second gear and it was practically pushing my car to redline just trying to enginebrake down it.

Since freeways have two lanes I just pass slowly usually. Most passes I can get up just by letting off the throttle a little and letting the car slow down as it goes up them. If they drop me down to about 50 mph then I will downshift cuz fifth will start to lug otherwise.

I definitely like the 1st one the best except for the over exposure. If you have a .cr2 copy (raw file) I could fix the blown out highlights for you. Easy fix. In fact, might be able to do something with the original, full size jpeg if you want.

...and one of them doesn't do facebook.

Are we still talking bed racks here?

Yup 300 cash, no shipping. :)

Ben, I gave Jeff that pic of adam's rack. Mines essentially the same as his except its made of round tubing and about 8" higher in the air.

Driving thru any big city sucks depending on the time of day. Whether its Portland or Seattle or even Salt Lake.

I dont actualy live anywhere near downtown but getting around is something you learn to put up with. If I could make the income I do by living in Hamiton, MT or Bend, Ore or even CDA I would do it right now. Unfortunately, the time is not yet there for that kind of move. :pout:

Yeah... Probably didn't help that I caught all of the Thanksgiving traffic in Portland... First time I have ever gone below 45 mph/stopping on a freeway when there wasn't construction or a wreck involved.

Oh yeah, as far as a Southeast Idaho meet, I think I will have to talk with Brant and Konsta and see if there are some nice trails around to run since I doubt we will want to hit up Shelley rocks or the dunes if there is snow. Not ever sure if you guys will want to hit them with your rigs even if there is no snow... They aren't exactly gentle... and I doubt you guys are looking to get the kind of damage I have been getting lately... haha

Cameron (shutterbug) would know of some trails in Downey but for now we will try to keep it closer to IF for you guys.

Oh and also, my first meet up with Mark's place in Boise. So I am following my GPS and I end up missing the turn because it is some little ghetto road that is hidden really close to a main road (apparently everyone misses it the first time, haha). I start driving down it (it is kind of dark, but not completely dark yet) and I see some lights behind me so I pull over as two cop cars go flying by me, while I am pulled over, I send Mark a text (he is on his way home from work now). I get back on the road and don't see the cops anymore. Well I drive about half a mile or so farther down the road and there are several cop cars surrounding this house that I am thinking is Mark's now because his house number is getting pretty close now. I end up driving around one of the cop cars (they are kind of blocking the road) and see them pretty much heading for the front door with their guns all drawn ready to shoot!! At that point I noticed the house number was Mark's neighbor at least! haha but they blocked his driveway so I parked across the street and watched the show. By the time I came back by they had put their guns away and were questioning 2 women, who they put in the back of cop cars to keep warm. Not sure what was going on in the house though. Eventually they just let the women out and all left. Not sure what the deal was. Was pretty funny texting Mark and telling him about his house being swarmed by cops and getting a frantic phone call from him though:D

Depends if I have enough money to replace my Dunglops. They are at 4/32nds of a tread. Where you planning on going?
