Whew! I'm a happy camper.Hope this post will help others who own a 2009 trd sport double cab 4x4 tacoma. Thanks to the members who help me through their blogs.here is my tsb success story.called 1-800-331-4331 told them i loaded riding mower and when i go through bumps i'm experiencing a rough ride.so toyota gave me a case number and asked me to bring it to the nearest dealer for inspection.I did at about 9:30 am this morning and i showed the service guy the tsb that i downloaded from this site. I showed him the part # of one of my leaf springs which says" CHI 48220-04190G LH " he says the TSB is only for 2008. I tried to be diplomatic about it and told him,you are right, the TSB is only for the 2008 but the part # i have in my truck 2009 is the same number on the TSB.So i should get the updated 4 leaf springs and shocks.he said he'll call toyota and will call me .Guess what he called me 2 hrs later and told me he ordered the springs and that i already have the updated shocks. This is at Planet Toyota,Matteson,IL.Diplomacy sometimes works if not all the time. Thanks again to the tacoma world members keep up the good work, you helped a new member like me.

Wow. Good dealer right there. The TSB Springs are a huge improvment over the stock 3 leaf ones... the trucks gonna ride a lot better once their on.

EDC, glad you had a good experience. I did almost the same thing except I never had to bring my truck into the dealership to get it checked out. When they called they tried to talk me around the issue so I recited the TSB back to him. The service manager called me back within an hour saying that he's ordered the leaf springs and they will be upgrading my shocks as well. Took about a week for them to get the parts, and 2 weeks before the sun and the moon aligned (my schedule being open on a day they were able to take it in) but we have a date set next week. I'll be sure to post pics and measurements when it's complete.

    Thanks TW!!!

I told my dealer the same thing and they verified that my bump stops have been hitting the frame and now I have an appointment for the DSPM (district service and parts manager) to take a look at the truck this coming monday. They just wanted me to drop off the truck in the morning but i'm gonna wait for the dspm to kick him in the nuts for making me come back for another inspection.

Nope, no need to try another dealer since I know in fact that this same dealership has done at least two TSB's before mine but never on an 09.

They were really good in replacing my JBL amp so I think maybe since it was an 09 that they are having a problem with.

It's cheaper for to fix it piece by piece because not all Tacoma owners complain about it or even know about it.

I have never loaded much in my 09 so I am not really sure if I need to have this done or not. I have the toytec ultimate lift sitting here to install on my truck. Should I go have the tsb done on my truck before I do the install of the lift?

I believe the Ultimate lift comes with add a leaf for the rear and the package either comes with the regular no tsb add a leaf or the one with the add a leaf for the tsb springs.

btw, you don't need to load much before you start to bottom out. About 600lbs would definitely do it.

Finally got my tsb done after wrong part was delivered.loved the ride.responsive in tight cornering, did not feel much diffference as to the ride quality a bit stiff maybe but negligible.the back gained an inch lift.according to the threads it will even out after some time.
