I had my tacoma short bed since 2005 over 112K miles with no issues except for the compass/temp and SRS wiring issues but all have been fixed. I am in the market for a new truck. I have checked out the F150 and tundras but all seems way to big and gas millage are horrible. My wife could cant even see over the truck bed on both trucks. The only other truck is the nissan frontier but I dont like the exterior and the interior of the truck. The other truck I havent seen in the 2013 v6 dodge 1500. It has good millage and more room. I have not owned or driven any dodge vehicle and i have read that they are not as reliable as toyotas. The new tacomas looks almost like as my current tacoma. Any advice?

If I was to replace my Tacoma, I would probably replace it with a Tacoma. Most likely a double cab 4x4.

If I wasn't to go Tacoma, it would either be 4Runner or FJ Cruiser. The new 4Runner Trail is an amazing machine, and quite honestly my favorite vehicle I've ever driven, but it's way out of my price range. I like the looks of the FJ and its potential, but the windshield/dash is terrible.

I don't want a fullsize. Too big, and my Tacoma can pull 6,500lbs while being easy to drive and fits on most trails.

I had a 06 dcsb sold it for a WRX. Drove that for a year and decided I missed my taco so much I went out and go a 2011 dcsb trd sport in white. Man I love that truck.

Granted, I'm only 3 weeks in on my first, but I love it.

Yup. Love my 10 regular cab after less than 2 months. My wife had a 96 that she hated to give up but it was part of the buyback..she loves her Rav4 now.

I'll have had my 11 dclb two years the 1st of jan. yes, i would buy another one. it's the right size for my needs. i can haul 4 riders and bikes in the summer and 4 skiers and gear in the winter. sometimes 5. i don't off road and use it camping, driving in the snow and light hauling. it gets reasonable mileage and the quality has been great.

I'll probably buy a new one when it hits 100k miles.

If I bought another one and still kept my current one I would get a single cab. I love those things. I just cant have one as my one and only vehicle.

Thats what my wife told me. My truck has treated me well for the past 7 years. Were thinking of starting a family soon and I would like to have extra safety features that the new cars such as the side curtain airbags. Plus a bigger truck bed would be nice. The 5ft bed is too small to fit my road bike and MTB bike lying down.

For those who had an 05 tacoma and traded it in to the dealership, how much was the best price that you settled with? My truck is pretty much stock except for a tonnue cover, aftermarket in dash dvd and speakers. it has 112k miles and a few minor scratches and dings. KBB and edmunds valued it between $11k-$13k trade in. I took it to two dealerships while checking out other trucks and they offered me $6500 - $8500.

When they fix the manual transmission TOB issue, make 4 leafs stock in the rear, have a sunroof option, put the 4runner v-8 in all 4x4 models, maybe I'll think about it.

    Otherwise, No.

Yes. When my 7th grader twins reach driving age in high school, I will give them the truck and buy another for myself. No question about it. I will have about 450k miles on it at that point.

Yes, have or currently own (in my name not house hold) 7 small Toyota trucks including 2 second gens, 2 first gens & 3 Toyota pickups. I've also owned trucks produced by other manufactures, Toyotas are hard to beat...I believe they are the best (though I did like my lifted F250 4x4 diesel better).

This is my 3rd tacoma (1981, 2001, 2009) that I have now. But I am looking for a little more room. I do like that F150 FX4 and it gets similar gas mileage as my tacoma. Lift + Larger tires - no gear change = not so good gas mileage for me.

Personally I will not buy a Govt Motors built vehicle. Tundra and Ford will redesign their 2014 trucks so it may make me wait one more year to see the changes.
