Nope. Buddy stiffed me Sunday and never showed up. Typical shit you have to deal with when getting free work done.

That's fine with me because I don't have the cash for parts now anyway.

Before we rip the whole thing out I need to save up about $2k because I don't want it sitting in pieces for more then a few weeks.

    I'm guesstimating March completion :notsure:

That sucks. Let me know if there is anything I can help with.

You looking at replacing the short block and keeping the top end, or doing a complete intake to pan swap?

The least the better for me and my wallet so if it's just the block and a piston/rod that would be great. All depends on the damage we find and what is currently on the market. Right now there is a complete frame, tranny, and engine on Craigslist F/S, but CL scares me.

I'm actually hoping in the meantime a tree falls on it or it catches fire in my backyard. That would be the best thing for me.

Are the scratched so bad that the cylinder cannot be honed to clean it up and get a good piston ring seal? This is a fairly common practice on older american engines. A cheap and easy fix that can sometimes be done without overboring the cylinder and refitting larger pistons.

Had my truck in for its quarterly take it to the dealer to fix things that annoy me warranty work. Replaced the Heater blower motor and the plastic Cowl Trim Thingamabob below the windshield. I'm pretty sure the dealer invoice was almost $700. lol.

the rubber moulding that goes along the windshield popped up a bit so it wasn't sealed against the windshield, I could push it back on but its under warranty and I don't want it getting worse.
