I get 13mpg as well truck is lifted 3" riding on E load 10ply Falken Rocky mountains. I tow 5 days a week.

At first I was upset about the bad mpgs, but came to a conclusion that its a truck with big V6 so I don't worry about it anymore.

OP, do you run youir AC all the time? If so, that will have a big impact on your gas mileage.

    There ya go.

That's a lot of rubber, and cost me 2mpg even on my 360hp Duramax. Truck had no trouble spinning that rubber.

Taller tires slow down the speedo so your calculated MPG is lower.
Those are HEAVY tires. That hurts too.

    OP,

I think that the weight of the tire, and the tread pattern truly affects the gas mileage of your truck. I had duratrac tires load E and they were somewhat loud, heavy and I noticed a big decrease in gas mileage. I just recently switched to yokohama geolander tires that are 6 pounds lighter and have a less aggressive tread which seems to have improved my mileage. Just some food for thought.

Like others have said, check your MPG with a GPS. I think you will also find that your speedo is now accurate. My 08 with 265/65-17 the speedo showed 30 mph and the GPS showed 28 at 60 the GSP showed 57 with 265/70-17 my speedo is dead on.

Thanks guys. The tires look and sound cool driving around, but i agree they are probably part of the problem, since i am not 4wheeling all that much. Plus I'm not looking forward to driving on the highway in the snow with them. I may suck up the expense and change out the tires, but keep the same size b/c i do like the look.

Thanks for all the tips and feedback everyone!

Your tires are whats killing your MPG.. Ive noticed a huge difference in my MPG once I went from regular road tires to my wider A/Ts.. Maybe get some commute wheels and tires?

    *EDIT*

I suppose I should read the whole thread and not just OP before I post! Oops! :D

I've been getting about 20 mpg but you guys must consider she's still all stock. There is one thing I have noticed though. When the price of gas goes down so does my fuel milage and it goes up when price goes up.
