    When MA changed from the 10 year lookback on previous DUI's, it didn't take long for a headline on a 5th or more DUI arrest. Someone said to me (not knowing I am sober by choice after getting caught once) "how the hell does this person have a license?" I said "they probably don't. Know what a license is to someone like that? A piece of plastic. You won't keep them off the road without locking them up".

    Man oh man, .446 blood-alcohol content..I got brought to the ER one night that high and the doctor said I should have died just from that..and that he could have cut me open and operated on me without me feeling or knowing it.

    And I'll agree that he must have got away with this countless times, I've read that the average is you get away with drunk driving a thousand times before getting caught.

    In theory I'd love to see that Kodiak. In reality, never gonna happen thanks to some of the bleeding hearts out there. Same reason why people on public assistance (at least in MA) aren't forced to use birth control so they don't bear more children they cannot support.

    I'd even argue to dispense with 30 day rehab, if someone is this hardcore they don't want help 99 times out of 100 and then some. While I hate to see the state pay for his room and board, I guess it beats an innocent dying from this guy's actions.

    England had the right idea years ago - ship them off to remote prisons in Australia and let them fend for themselves. Not really possible today, but I have a modern day version which might work almost as well. Contract with remote prisons in the Middle-East to take our lifers and long-term. Middle-Easterners just seem to have ways of dealing with ("rehabilitating") those who just can't seem to figure out how to stay out of that much trouble. :D
