Does a full size 34 inch tire fit under the bed, where the stock spare tire is? Just wondering

So, in case anyone was wondering about Diablo Dropoff. It has changed a lot this year. Going down isnt too bad but still pretty hairy. Going up is a mofo and now worse since the trail just got narrower where the ledge gave away in this pic. Keep in mind how steep it is, cant tell in the pic. This is my buddy Ron from Saturday, fully locked, very capable rig and this was the result. Luckily nobody was hurt and 3 hours of tuggin and he drove it out. Not the first time its been over by any means so no worries on damage, cage did what its supposed to.

Hey we passed those two on the way out from Diablo drop off as they were heading in about to get to the first little rough patch on the trail. He asked if the trail was torn up and my buddy said "it's not that bad, but what my opinion of bad are other's saying that's insane." Was in a single cab straight axle 84 Toyota.

Seeing all the pictures form Ocotillo looked really fun, its too bad I want able to meet up with everyone, I know some really good stuff to go try out. Maybe next time, I have been there probably 50 times or more.

Glad everyone came out unscathed. Especially since all the changes in the terrain caused by the HUGE storm that came through.

I think I am going out to Lake Havasu the following weekend , and back to Ocotillo shortly thereafter.
If anybody is willing to drive I can show you some REALLY fun stuff out there.

 

I am thinking a day run to ocotillo/south side in the hills is in order for Dec 22. I'm am spending the weekend at a bed & breakfast in Julian that weekend. Thinking dropping down from Rodriguez canyon off banner grade would be a good place to start. Not likely going to be a 2wd friendly kind of run

 

Not sure where I will be then but if I am in Oco I would love to link up with ya guys. Its not as fun going solo 90% of the time, especially if "Something" happens....

Thanks, Tyler It's hard for me to sit still in another truck without getting the antsy feeling of wanting to drive my own. I'll take ya up on that one day when I'm feeling horribly desperate for dirt.
