Mullen has certainly built the program from what Croom started, but I'm not so sure that we can ever get to that next level with him. Certainly not with the talent he is recruiting. He seems to want to turn MSU into a better program and to stick with it for quite some time, I'm not sure he will get the time he would need to get us an SEC championship or a National Championship. Even though our record is better this year, last year's team was much more competitive. We took an obvious step back in terms of defense and our offense still can't do anything. I'm willing to give Mullen a few more years if he can get us a 10 win season next year with that schedule we have. I am getting tired of 8-4 seasons and a gator bowl or a music city bowl(which is where we are likely to end up).

With Shaw and Lattimore, I bet SC would be favored, or at least even money.

Don't be a hater. Just because A&M and Johnny handed you a horrible defeat, doesn't mean you can't have a little unbiased perspective. You know just as well as I do, that Aggies should have beat MSU by 5 touchdowns, instead of 24pts. MSU got a couple of horrible homer calls go their way that kept it from being an absolute beat down. You may not like Johnny Manziel, but I bet you wish he was on your team. SHow me a top 10 team that wouldn't struggle without its top player...your point is invalid.

Look, I don't want Manziel anywhere near Starkville. He is white trash, pure and simple. Kid carries three fake ids with him to a bar and he defends his racist friend and backs him up in a fight. Keep him in Aggieland. And yes, I agree we suck this year. It's how it is. Tyler Russell can't keep his head on straight in big games. Our o-line can't block. It's how it is. MSU is known for mediocre football. As far as unbiased, nobody is unbiased bud. As far as my point being invalid, go to Oregon and take away Thomas. You've got Barner and Mariota to carry the slack. Go to Bama and take away McCarron (which Bama should do in games where he throws a pick on one of his first throws) and just feed Lacey and Yeldon. Notre Dame has a good enough D-line to be able to still win games without Manti Teo. UGA has three offensive studs and a solid defense, nobody stands out there as their sole "best player" either. Without Manziel, A&M would be nowhere. It's not about a top 10 team struggling without a single player, it's about a team that solely relies on one guy to make plays no matter what. It won't last. Look to Aub without Newton and UF for two years without Tebow. I'm not taking anything away from what they have done this year. I'm saying Manziel was the reason you won every game y'all have. Had we lost Russell due to injury, we would replace him with an adequate backup and still win 8 games. We don't rely on one solid player to pull us through every game. If Mullen can solve some problems, that is how we will win a championship, not just headlines. We don't want Heisman winners at MSU, we want a title.

First of all, you obviously haven't watched a lot of A&M this year. We have 2-3 receivers that will eventually play on Sunday. We've got two first round draft picks playing on the O-Line at tackles and a another at center. We've got 3 excellent running backs that have pro potential and the SEC leader in Sacks on the other side of the ball. So before you go blasting off your bravado about team-work and championship titles, do your homework. I appreciate you pointing out that Manziel is the most dynamic player in football (hence the Heisman hype), but he is not the ONLY player on the team. And if he goes down, we have a backup QB with a cannon that can spread the field wide open and beat you in a different manner. Remember what Kevin Sumlin did with all of his passers at UH, don't think he can't run the same kind of pass-happy offense here with better receivers and blockers. In response to your talk about Manziel's arrest...come on man! Unless you are living under a rock, then you know that 95% of college kids do stupid things in their college careers. Point is, he was an 18yr old kid that made a mistake and subsequently paid the price for it. I don't think that makes him white trash or a thug, just a regular kid. But I'm sure MSU kids are choir boys that don't get into trouble. And please don't try to fool anyone else with the "we don't want the Heisman" talk. MSU would LOVE to have anything that would put them in the limelight other than it having the largest ball of yarn in Mississippi. Good job on that by the way!!

On the scoreboard, you are correct. I do think that the A&M/LSU game is going to be a fun one every year!! I remember the games in the early 90's that were so competitive and a blast to attend. Hope it stays that way when Les Miles goes to the NFL.

Notre Dame is as of right now #1 in the country all polls.. Its been a long time coming I am gonna enjoy it. I say Georgia pulls the upset this weekend and we watch a good game between ND and the dogs.

I've watched all but 3 games of A&M this year. Swope has impressed me this year, but could he and any other receivers help carry the team like Manziel did if Manziel wasn't there? I don't think Jameil Showers and your runningbacks would have led A&M to win more than 7 games, he doesn't have the speed to get away from tacklers like Manziel did. And yes I do remember what Sumlin did at UH, I saw a quarterback carry that team too. And I am not saying that every player for MSU is clean and perfect, I don't expect that. I expect them to keep out of bar fights. As far as Manziel being the most dynamic, I think Klein, Mariota, and Braxton Miller could all fit into that category. And I am not lying about the Bulldogs not wanting the Heisman, their focus this year was to get to the National title. They failed.
